I’ve been looking for a really good powder liner for a while; a friend of mine always uses one to tightline (I don’t because I find powder that close to my eyeball irritates it) and then she blends the black away into a really soft, flattering daytime look.

Canmake released some gel pencil liners (review coming up) and 2 powder liners late last year. I am a complete sucker when it comes to eyeliners; I just love them.  Here I have both variations a dark bitter brown and black:

The packaging is cheap but fairly sturdy plastic and it comes with 2 average brushes.  You get quite a decent amount of product too.

Canmake is one of those brands that is a bit love or hate…

Whilst it is super affordable, some of their products don’t do much for me. On the other hand they are innovative for what is a ‘drugstore’ level brand.

Here are the liners; as expected, these are similar to cake liners in that they are not pigmented at all when used dry, you have to use them wet to get full impact.

Used dry this powder liner does nothing for me, however, it is quite a good one to use to set eyeliner and keep it in place.

With water the result is intense and it dries and lasts pretty well too.  I don’t think I have the energy to mix water in to my eyeliner every day though:

I like both of these items even if they are a little more gimmicky than your average eyeliner. I paid about £5 each for these, I think!

Do you use powder eyeliners?
