Maybe it was just a moment of weakness, but when I visited Superdrug a few days ago I made did a little haul on the NYC counter.
NYC is not a brand I’ve tried before – dunno just never caught my attention. They had an offer on, buy any 2 items and get a free pair of lashes (I am lash mad at the moment!). All the packs of lashes had been opened and tampered with so I picked the only pair that hadn’t been!
I bought 2 eyeshadows – a dark grey and a shimmery white – Broadway Look and I love NY. It was I love NY that caught my attention first – I dipped my finger into the tester and it was so beautifully pigmented!
Broadway Look was promising in the pan. It’s darker in real life with a shimmery, sparkly edge to it:
Both of the eyeshadows are very soft and not chalky.
The white shade is very shimmery and a soft off white. 
This white one is super creamy and pigmented. It’s the reason I ended up indulging and my goodness – it’s GORGEOUS! Anyone looking for a shimmery white highlighter should check out this shadow (I think the were £2.50 each) – it’s cheap and totally totally gorgeous!
The darker shade, Broadway Look is less pigmented and a little disappointing. Considering how rich it looks inside the pan, this lacked pigment and was a bit flat.
So I guess the lesson is, check the testers where you can, and realise that some products are hits, some are misses! I will try out more shadows from NYC because I love NY is a standout shadow so I want to see what other gems they have in their range.

I used to have some eye palettes from them. They’re pretty cheap but some of their stuff is nice. I did buy some of their newer eye shadows, I just haven’t played with them yet. ;p

I have never tried the eyeshadows before but may give them ago if they are veggie friendly as they are pretty cheap. I have tried the nail varnishes in the past & they were pretty reasonable for the price.
