There are so many under eye brightening products out there these days that we are totally spoilt for choice!
A brightener illuminates the under eye area making shadows and lines less apparent; I personally love them because I like a light coverage under the eye area and they are less likely to look cakey.
One of the latest to hit the market is Trish McEvoy’s Instant Eye Lift.
It looks a lot like the Eye Base – I have to remember look at which one is which otherwise I’m going to end up with eye base on my dark circles!
They Say:
Trish McEvoy’s Instant Eye Lift is an innovative under-eye brightener and line-filler for the rested, lifted look every woman wants.
(I posted an instructional video of the Instant Eye Lift if you want to see how the lady herself uses it.)
So it comes with a sponge tip applicator and comes (so far) in one shade. Does it work?…….
Now, Trish’s instruactions say to use this on the outer V and it can be used with or without a concealer (thus, gage how much coverage you need!).
I also used this under my eyes because I think it works pretty well – AND it looks great at the inner corner of the eye, near the bridge of the nose.
Bare Eye:
Ok, ok so I didn’t apply it to the outer V – I need to read instructions a little better! Hehe. Watch the video of Trish’s application though, you’ll see it makes a difference!
Ok so here I am with the Instant Eye Lift! I like the texture, it’s thinner than Touche Eclat with no discernible scent. It looks awfully light here…
But once patted in – yeah! I like it! I think it does a pretty good job of lightening up the area and to be honest, I personally wouldn’t add much concealer, I really hate crusty make up under the eyes:
Verdict:
This is just another option for ladies who want to really brighten up the eye area and look more awake in the mornings! Because of its light texture, I think it blends in beautifully and can be used as a top up later on in the day without any caking.
It also fills in those pesky fine lines around the eyes – which I like!
It is also very good used on the outer V (as instructed, hehe) and also in the inner corner! I would also say that it works as a spot highlighter not just around the eyes.
If you need lots of coverage then you will need to use a concealer and then something like this on top – alone, this will not cover major dark circles or bags.
On sale on Trish Counters on online in the US. I got this as part of the ‘Essential Eye Kit’ (will be reviewed shortly) and it’s one of my favourite bits from it.

Although I absolutely LOVED the Trish McEvoy’s concealer, at the end of the day it is just a concealer. It will not solve the issue at hand. I used to have it in my purse everywhere I go, now I carry a set of Eye Rid collagen & Q10 eye patches. Eye Rid cleared up my dark circles permanently and leaves my eyes refreshed after each use. Mose aside Trish McEvoys, I found Eye Rid. Did I mention that it cost less than this concealer and other high end eye patch.
