Skinfood, Skinfood, you are always thinking of unusual ways to combine my two true lives: Food and Make Up.

Although I have to say, I don’t really dig tomatoes. I like tomato on pizza, with pasta, possibly little Santorini tomatoes that comes with M&S salad. Otherwise I don’t dig big beefy tomatoes, although I was always taught to eat stuff up unless it’s unbearable so I will always eat up a raw tomato if I can bear it.

Mr C, on the other hand, hates cooked tomatoes. How does a relationship survive when one person likes cooked tomatoes, the other likes raw?

But I digress.

Skinfood Tomato Cool Jelly Tint comes in 3 shade variations and looks like this:

They say:

“This water-based gel type tint is full of moisture and nutrition. It offers glossy pastel colors that give you full, natural looking lips.”

There’s No. 1 – Cherry Tomato, No. 2 – Berry Tomato and No. 3 – Orange Tomato. I chose orange tomato because I like oranges.

It comes with a hairy sponge applicator which I quite like.

You can see on the applicator that this gel is quite a sheer one. I love the bottle by the way I just think it’s a cute shape!

Swatched:

Note – this tint, like a lot of tints are for the lips and they don’t necessarily specify that you can use it on the cheeks but common sense that it would be ok for the cheeks.

This one is a little sticker – just a bit – so is ok for the cheeks but not ideal unless you like a dusty face.

On the lips you can see it is very much an orange shade:

I don’t know if I like the shade, I think there’s too much yellow in the orange? It looks a bit jaundiced?

Nevertheless, it leaves my lips feeling hydrated and makes my lips look healthier than with other tints I have tired. It stays just ok, not brilliantly…hmm. I think it’s a decent product but I have no urge to buy the other shades in the range.

This was around £6 from eBay.

Doesn’t look too super fabulously glossy. But I have a much more pressing question.

Does it smell tomato-y? Or like orange? Because I am a little terrified of the idea of a tomato-smelling lip gloss. Or anything that isn’t food. Xp

Your lips look very nice. Usually, when people take close ups of their mouths, it makes me sick to my stomach. Your lips are very lovely and very healthy.

Anyway, I think I’m gonna try the Tomato because it doesn’t sound like it actually tastes like tomatoes, lol.

Not a fan of tomatoes but I know they are excellent and nutritious.
