Recently, I was sorting out my pigments for the blog sale (this Saturday people!) and ended up with about 6 empty containers. So I went to MAC to claim my free lipstick! Rather than going for something wacky, which is what I always do I decided to pick something I knew I would wear.
I am madly in love with Angel from MAC – it’s one of the few MAC lipsticks I adore but it was a bit wobbly and smushed itself in the side of the barrel. So I picked Creme Cup which people told me is similar to Angel. Alongside that I purchased a lip pencil in In Anticipation (recommended to me by a MUA (Sasha) on Twitter) and a Cremesheen Lip Gloss in Partial to Pink (MAC is quite expensive these days isn’t it?!).
In Anticipation I found to be a really full on pink (but not a hot pink), Creme Cup is that cool toned light pink, to me it looks somewhat lighter and cooler than Angel. Too much of this on olive skin looks somewhat…stripper-ish?!. Finally Partial to Pink which is a soft light pink – dupable, but I just wanted this one!
I guess people think of this kind of lip combo as a ‘Kim Kardashian’ lip, although she is rumoured to wear Nars Turkish Delight on top, which does nothing for me.
There is something very girl and feminine about this look though as long as you don’t go over the top.
I don’t find it too hard doing this whole lip look. The lip liner is super soft and pigmented (deeper than the gloss and lipstick) so it needs to be applied lightly.
On my lips – slightly extreme version but I would wear this a little more sheerly for day to day:
Mmm MAC do do some lip products very well!
What do you think of this lip combo?

MAC has gone up quite a bit, and I wonder if they could bring their prices down by not driving it up with so many limited editions…
