Launching in January 2011 (Happy New Year!) is Benefit’s Bella Bamba Boxed Powder, a warm medium pink blusher with a shimmer gold touch to it. It comes in this funky looking box and it is reallyyyy pretty.

They say:

Amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, bella bamba is taking eye popping pretty to the third dimension…you’ll never use traditional blush again!

Bella Bamba! It makes me think of this song:

It’s funny, I own four of the Benefit boxed powders (Dallas, Dandelion, Sugarbomb and 10), but the two I really want (Hoola and Coralista) I’ve not had the chance to buy (and are probably more suited to my medium skintone!). One this is for sure though – there’s powders last forever…

Sneek a peak…This powder comes in a sturdy cardboard box. The difference is this time there is a mirror in the lid and it is attached (whereas it just lifts off with the other ones).

I’m quite indifferent to the lid, I don’t mind if it is or isn’t attached. The lid folds right back so you can get to the product either way.

The blush is like a pink version of Coralista. I’m glad it has a punchy edge to it, I’m kinda tired of soft pastel blushers that take ages to build up.

I must admit though I am an orange and peach girl. I worry that anything too pink or which has red tones will highlight the natural ‘high colour’ I have in my cheeks. Luckily, I think this works pretty well without making me look like I’m sweating…it’s a pretty, pink glow.

It is quite pigmented. Less is more.

It has light shimmery particles in it. It’s really nice but I would still be careful applying this over areas which have large pores etc. (The US Benefit sites recommends using the POREfessional under this and they’re right, it does make this blush easier to apply and removes the issue of ‘highlighted pores!’)

Is it like Nars Orgasm? I think this is a bit more shimmery. It’s a easy to use every day shade for sure.

I bought this blush today, so far so good. I have been using Nars Orgasm for many years but I got a macys gift card as a Xmas present and Macys does not carry Nars :( this is as close as Orgasm as I could find, but youre right.. more pigmented so two strokes gave me the same result as may strokes (twirls and swirls of Orgasm) I am content, the same price ($28 dollars). but with the convenience of a brush so I can touch up during work, yay!
