It’s funny how you can love a brand then you sort of forget about them? It’s like that with Shu Uemura. I’m not tempted by any of their new releases at all – why is that?
Their Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine lipsticks are though – completely gorgeous but absolutely not faultless. Annoying, eh? Still a week or so ago I treated myself to a new lipstick from the collection (and I forgot what other shades I had so had to google my own blog – sad!). I ended up with PK345 which is a full on rosy pink with a hint of blue microsparkle.
I’ve been picking up bits and bobs in SpaceNK and actually I like their loyalty card system – spend £100 and get £5 off any purchase. No it’s not a fortune but then they could give us nada, like a lot of other department stores do!
Now – it swatched beautifully on my hand but I have to say on the lips, I’m not convinced.
It’s almost too full on pink – but it’s not brash enough to be a hot pink, it’s not muted enough to be a nude pink, so it’s just a pink. Plain and simple pink with some sparkle in it. Too much and it looks a bit clownish. I have a warm skintone and can usually pull off most pinks apart from deathly pale ones but I felt this warm pink did nothing for me:
On the plus side the texture is beautiful and it leaves such a gorgeous watery shine finish.
If I ever buy any more of these (just one more!) it will be a beige tone as I don’t have one of those hues in this formula.
Have you tried Shu Uemura Supreme Shines?

I think it looks lovely on you! I wish my lips were less pigmented so I could see this color on me
