I’ve heard many a good thing about Guerlain’s Lingerie De Peau liquid foundation, so was excited to try their Lingerie De Peau Compact Foundation which is the carry round, quick use base.
I do have a thing for compact foundations, as you may have noticed; I love on the go products. This palette is quite unique because it has a base and also a concealer in a thin strip (as you will see) in one place meaning you can do 2 things at once!
They say: Guerlain fulfils every woman’s dream by creating an all-in-one moisturising cream foundation and concealer that seems to fuse with the skin so perfectly it cannot be seen or felt. The two complementary shades blend seamlessly, creating a second skin effect, tailored to match the natural perfection of each individual complexion.
The foundation comes in 6 shades and has a SPF of 20. I have shade 04 Beige Moyen which is on the darker end of the scale.
In hindsight, 03 Beige Naturel may have been a better match for my NC30-35 skintone, HOWEVER, this foundation has a sheer glowy coverage so 04 Beige Moyen doesn’t look orange or horrible, it just leaves me with a very very light golden toned skin look!
The compact comes in a slick black case which I think is plastic. It makes a change I guess from the usual palettes, it is quite a wide one too, perhaps to accommodate the foundation and concealer. The case is prone to finger marks being dark and shiny:
Absolutely love the concept of having a concealer and foundation together! There is a thin sponge with the base which means you can turn it to the side and use the edge to pick up the concealer.
The concealer shade is designed to complement the foundation colour. In this case, Beige Moyen is a very golden colour and the concealer is a honey yellow.
When I swatched them, they seemed pretty sheer. The texture is quite light and definitely hydrating – it doesn’t dry and look cakey at all. Nevertheless; I like a decent coverage base so was concerned about how this would look.
Swatches:
Overall the finish is glowy, hydrating and has a soft finish. It is very natural and disappears on to the skin.
I got a chance to really test this the last week when I have been dashing from place to place without a chance to do my make up first (ie. leaving with clean skin and nothing else!). The concealer struck me as being quite sheer when swatched, but when applied with the sponge, the coverage is better and also it gives an overall highlighted effect (ie. under the eyes) so gives the illusion of a really lovely complexion.
If you have major blemishes that you usually use thick opaque base concealer on, then the one in this palette may not be enough. But if you just have some dark circles and a bit of redness (like me) the compact in a whole works well.
Finish:
Verdict:
This is my carry round foundation now! Recommended for people who don’t have overly oily skin or require a lot of coverage. It is expensive, no doubt but I find base products are worth investing in. Also good compact foundations are hard to find!
This costs £44 (look out for 10% off at Debenhams!).

It looks really good! I sold off my 03 Guerlain foundations – maybe I’ll get this in 02 at Duty Free. Thanks for the post!

What a beautiful compact I always love nicely packaged ones! I am a huge fan of Guerlain foundations. I’ve only tried the liquid ones so far, but the finish is always glowing
