Despite having a perm a YEAR AGO – yes a YEAR AGO that was supposed to grow out after 12 weeks, my perms is still very much alive and kicking. I find it really hard to cope with burly hair – I have come to realise my curly haired friends have to work at getting beautiful bouncy curls.

For days when I can’t be straightening my hair, I need to keep the curls and as unfrizzy as possible.

Step in Bumble & Bumble Curl Conscious range:

There are also some shampoos and conditioners in the range.

I really like Bumble & Bumble hair products! They’re expensive but effective.

First off the holding Foam! This is like a mousse but quite unusual because it comes out as a thick gel that you need to rub to get it into a mousse texture.

How to use: Dispense a quarter-size amount and activate in hands; apply to damp hair from the nape forward, roots to ends; heat-style or air-dry.

This product left me with quite defined thick curls, you only need the tiniest amount of product.  Too much and they look a bit crispy. Use just enough and it really defines the hair. Bumble Bumble Curl Conscious Reactivating Mist Defining Creme and Holding Foam Review 2

The only problem with the foam is that it tends to run a little more from the nozzle and leaves a bit of a sticky mess no matter how many times you wipe it. Not a huge deal but something to bear in mind.

Next is the defining creme for fine curls.  They give your hair soft and fine curls.  Once again only a small amount of product is necessary to make the hair look shapely, and it reduces frizz too although I didn’t think it made the curls look more ‘bouncy’.  This is better for a laid back look.  Use this on damp hair then heat dry.

Reactivating Mist – this is used on dry hair to restyle and refresh curls and if used with other products it should be used last.
After a day out and about my hair does look quite fluffy so this seemed to calm down the frizz again, and get it into more shape, although I don’t think it’ll work as a sole styling product if you are already frizzy for example.
These products will last forever and ever – they are so concentrated you need barely anything for them to work. They’re better than a lot of other curl products I’ve tried that are too heavy or leave the hair crunchy.
These products are £21.50 each apart from the mist which is £17.50. See the range here.

I own the creme, and have found it only so-so. It sounds like picking up the mousse to use with it might be a good idea – thanks for the review!
