I have a special place in my heart for Urban Decay – it is one of the more affordable self-serve counter brands that is pretty formidable in terms of colour choice and quality. 24/7 pencils? The best.

I have been sorting though my make up stash to do swatches for the up coming swatch gallery and guess what? I have quite a few product based on Urban Decays bestseller, Midnight Cowboy Eyeshadow.

I have: Midnight Cowboy Eyeshadow, which is a beige with a bit of sparkle and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again Eyeshadow which has even more sparkly elements in it, the Glitter Eyeliner, the Lipstick and the Shimmer body lotion:

Think pale, think sparkles. I personally find Midnight Cowboy a bit pinker in the base – just a tad.

The lipstick (how cute?) is a sheer, shimmery light beige gold. Once again, perfectly wearable.

The body lotion also surprised me – I am not one for shimmery body lotions as I just don’t have time and I was expecting this one to be a liquid gold. Instead its a white lotion, with silver sparkles in it – and a very fine and pretty shimmer it is too. It also smells of coconuts (reminds me of Malibu Sun Cream!) – I LOVE it, but this is a personal preference of course.

So everything is quite laid back but the emphasis is on sparkle. It’s like a frosty topping to a cupcake, but without the calories :)

I love glow lotions, but not the ones with self-tanner in them. Honestly, I’ve tried a half dozen self-tanning lotions and every one of them made me orange. So the best thing for me is to just use a lotion with a shimmer to it which gives my skin a pretty sheen without any obnoxious color. My favorite this year is called Glamour Girl and its all natural with essential oils–and it has shea butter which makes it actually good for the skin. http://www.salonhive.com/glamour-girl-glow-lotion.html I’m thinking the gold color of this Urban Cowboy lotion might be cool, though. I may pick it up.

Hi Jenna

Thats a great idea rather than using tan adding a sheen to the skin. The UD one is lovely but it does have a strong scent to it – I like the fact theres not pigment in the cream its just a light shimmer!
