Sen is a brand I have only just discovered – their range of health and wellbeing products is vast, and is based on Chinese Herbs. They have skincare, bodycare, teas, herbal remedies and they offer treatments too.
I tested out two products from the Skin Nourishment Range – Ginseng & Ginger although to be honest I don’t like either…well, not as a garnish anyway.
The products are beautifully packaged – a good gift, methinks:
Thankfully, ginger and ginseng in these products smells lovely; spicy and rich.
They say:
The skin of the Manchurian woman is revered as the most beautiful and luxuriant in China. The tough cold and dry Northern climate required a powerful skin nourishment regime. This blend of Manchurian Ginseng and Ginger has a highly potent hydration and nutrition effect, which soothes, softens, and primes skin texture.
Can we just ooh at the bottle. It’s nice, looks lovely in the bathroom and reminds me of Spongebob’s figure:
Even the bak of the bottle is pretty!
Design aside I really liked using the Ginseng and Ginger Bath and Shower Gel – I didn’t feel dry afterwards (my arms are a good indicator of whether a soap is too harsh for me). I still needed to use a cream but this is a good non stripping, nice smelling shower gel.
The collagen hand cream I knew wouldn’t hang around long as Mr C steals every hand cream I have:
I don’t mind, because unlike me he always finishes all the beauty products I give him!
This hand cream has a really nice texture, it’s rich when first applied then sinks in quickly but retains moisture well. It’s more of a desk hand cream this, because of the large size and pump action:
It does smell very nice too and keeps everything soft.
Verdict:
Overall Sen is worth looking at if you are interested in Chinese herbs and also teas and remedies as well as skincare.
See the Skin Nourishment range here – the bath and shower cream is £15 for 300ml and £16 for 200ml of the hand cream.

I LOVE ginger! When I have sushi, I probably eat as much of the pickled ginger as I do the sushi…nom nom I absolutely love the scent of Origins ginger body souffle, it’s not too overpowering

Hi Jen!
It’s weird as I’m not a big ginger fan but in its so nice in some body products as long as its not too sharp!

I love their stuff, I have actually used their stuff for more than a year and I especially love the Frankincense range! I thought it is pretty hard to get/niche yet it’s awesome!

I know what you mean about it not being too sharp, I bought a shower gel years ago which was ginger and something scent, and my word it was so strong you could smell it a mile off! I just bought the Origins ginger essence rollerball from the CCO in Cheshire Oaks this weekend, it’s just perfectly subtle and not overly ginger. Finding the Sen website quite interesting, as I love stuff to do with chinese medicines and stuff
