The Nars counter is LETHAL when it’s new collection time, I tell ya! I went along for my make over with my favourite make up artist, Leena.

We used quite a few different things so I’ll try and remember everything.

Damn I need to stop eating bread and stilton. Anyway….

No Primer – Leena forgot primer! I have to rib her about this, but she told me it’s because I talk too much so it’s my fault.

Base – the NEW anti aging foundation with -

* Exclusive Polypeptide Firming Complex™ helps firm and lift skin
* Antioxidants help protect against free radical damage
* Firming peptides help to reduce the look of creases associated with aging
* Includes brown algae, organic gotu kola, boswellia and a patented Gatuline RP combined with Vitamin C
* Skin feels significantly firmer and visibly lifted after 8 weeks
* Available in 16 synthetic fragrance-free shades, with a pump dispenser

I got Stromboli – oh I loved this. If felt light but had medium coverage and it guaranteed to reduce lines – good!

My usual concealer (Praline I think) and Powder Foundation on top.

Cheeks were Nico on the top of the cheek and under the eyes, and of course SUPER ORGASM on the apple of the cheeks!!! We also used SOUTH BEACH multiple under the cheekbone from the ear downwards.

Eyes were – Macaribo Cream Solo as a base, then JOLIE POUPEE – the new purple shadow. Oh yes, it’s amazing – at last a true purple. Silent Night, the new gold was dotted in the inner corner. Night Flight, the dark blue from the Night series was used with a wet brush to line. The new eyeshadow, Black moon liner on the inner eye and mascara.

Lips – oh my GOD the lips. This was ROMAN HOLIDAY VELVET MATTE pencil as a base the RISKY BUSINESS, a strawberry sparkle gloss on top. Together it’s bloody amazing:

I don’t need to tell you that the haul from this visit was apocalyptic and I shall blog on this shortly. What’s nice about the NARS stuff is it’s infinately useable, unlike when I suddenly buy a Bobbi Brown Palette then never touch it again cos I got bored.

Do you like the look?

uh…YESYESYES! This looks sooo good on you! This shade of purple really brings out the brown in your eyes. The lips are seriously amazing too….looks very plump, luscious, and kissable!

You made me curious about the NARS Skin line. I went out and got the mud mask and aqua gel. Love both of them! Have you tried the eye cream? I got the LE La Mer eye concentrate not too long ago (cuz LE mah! Haha) and don’t really like it all that much. Somehow the small wrinkle is looking MORE obvious!? WTH.

Hey Mable

The NARS mask especially is great isn’t it. I do have the Nars eye cream. I like it but I can’t say it blows me away but its a good deal if you buy the box sets, which are about £100 and you get three items, cleanser, toner, cream and it works out like the eye cream is free :)

You look gorgeous, I have brown eyes and purple really makes them pop. totally agree with you on the NARS/ Bobbi thing, NARS just screams play with me whereas I just push Bobbi to the back of the draw and wonder why I bought a palette with 7,000 variations of the same shade of – nude.

I love how the purple colours look! I want to buy them now but I should wait seeing that I’ve spent so much this month already. Did you get to see the Multiple in Malaysia yet? I wonder when it’ll be released.

Bobbi Brown’s palettes look super boring, plus they’re expensive. I’d rather buy LORAC palettes if I want neutrals as they’re cheaper and very blendable still.

Hey Chica!

Yes, it’s definately more of a playable brand than Bobbi? Playable but not as whacky in a tastless way like MAC *hides from the Macaholics*

Hey Blu!

We don’t have Lorac in the UK, booo! Malaysia isn’t out yet, but I hear there will be some Bronzing multiples out soon! I am super excited about them!

I love your reviews! Have you ever owned/tried MAC Satellite Dreams eyeshadow? I’m wondering how it compares to the purple side of Jolie Poupee, which looks gorgeous on you by the way! Thanks :)

Hi Wei

I don’t have Satellite dreams but looking at the swatch:

http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/templates/products/search_results.tmpl?KEYWORDS=satellite+dreams&x=0&y=0

It looks a bit like the lighter side of the Nars Jolie Poupee. I am not sure about the pigment though – the Nars has a really nice texture better than most MAC shadows which is good but for me, not as fine or silky.
