The Men Pen

I was watching a video on You Tube and noticed and advert for The Men Pen (it bothers me. Shouldn’t it be a Man Pen? I know, I know, it wouldn’t rhyme but still….)

They Say:

The Men Pen product is a product made specifically for men to help cover up blemishes when it counts the most. Most of our customers are club goers that want to dress to impress when going out. There are also many executive men that use the men pen daily for things like business meetings and such where it is critical to look good.

IT’S A CONCEALER STICK!

The product is made of a makeup foundation type compound that is lightly applied to the face on top of acne, razor burn, or other blemishes. Each stick contains SPF 18 therefore we recommend light use if wearing it in the sun. The stick is a miniature tube about the length of chapstick but fatter with the same screw type container. Can easily be dropped into your pocket while at the bar. The Men Pen is available in 17 great colours.

The best way to apply is to dab over the blemish, then rub in a circulating motion with your finger. Once product is evened out with finger, it’s best to brush over it with a tissue to ensure no signs of contrast and an even covering. When applied properly there’s no trace of use when others are looking at you, you just look better!

IT’S A CONCEALER STICK!

The Men Pen is used by guys for a lot of different reasons, here are a few ideas that have been found most beneficial for using The Men Pen!

* Razor Burn temporary cover up
* Smooth face skin and pores
* Blend red spots on face (tanning, or rash)
* Cover up scrapes and cuts
* Reduce the appearance of acne or blemishes
* Hide scars from cuts or plastic surgery
* Use on scalp to fill holes or blend hair / hair loss
* Smooth rough lines below eyes
* Hide appearance of moles or bumps
* Use to dull colour of chapped lips if extremely red

IT’S JUST A CONCEALER STICK!

Still, I get it. Make wearing concealer for men seem like the norm, then everyone will do it.

It costs £11.99 in the UK. I interviewed the boyf regarding this item:

Would you buy The Men Pen?

No

Why not?

I wouldn’t use it as part of my routine.

Would you ever use concealer?

No. I’d just put up with spots.

What if it was, like your wedding day?

Oh yeah, I might use one then.

So you would buy a Men Pen for special occasions?

Well….only very special occasions.

What would you think if one of your male friends wore concealer

As a man I don’t think you should be that concerned with temporary blemishes on your face. In the work place your not really there to look good. If you looked closely I think you could tell…as a man it might draw attention to it.

Zzzzzz….have you finished. Ok thanks.

So there you go. The other half says pointless, but what does he know. Would you buy a Men Pen for your other half? (Or if you are a guy would you wear one on a daily basis?).

I think it would be a handy item to toss in your man-purse, along with your balls, as you clearly wouldn’t need them anymore.

Seriously though, I’m all for tinted moisturizer or bronzing gel for men, but I’d have to draw the line at concealer. ‘Tis a slippery slope.

Hey Pandy

I have to say, if TOH put tinted moisturiser on…I’d be looking for his boyfriend in the closet.

My crush is pretty vain so he’ll probably say yes to The Men Pen.

Sue

You should buy one and give it to the crush.

I’m not being sarcastic btw! I love asking men comedy questions and getting a serious answer :) See, I’m not eloquent at all. FAIL.

Hi Li

Men are…incomprehensible. I have been counting the amount of times me and TOH got our wires crossed today it was like, about 5. ><

Hey Row,

I just bought him a tube of Bb cream for men. With his approval of course, he was interested in trying it hahahhaha I swear he’s not gay!

Hey Sue

Is the BB cream tinted? I have been passing on nice creams to the boyf – just moisturisers but hes too lazy to use this. This morning I noticed an extra deep wrinkle near his eye!

why is it that men are less peturbed about blemishes while we would never dream of walking out in public with a big fat one on our faces.

Indeed Lyn! I would be mortified to walk down the road with a big red burning spot!

Yes, it is indeed tinted. My crush wears moisturizers too. Says he gets dry spots on his face. I also put mask on his face one time and he didn’t resist. Said it smelled good haha. And finally, he carries oil blotting paper around.

I think you should secretly dab eye cream on your bf while he’s asleep. It’s for his own good and he’ll thank you later.

Hi Sue

But I wont use my La Mer Eye cream on him, oh no……

Oil Blotting Paper!!! I draw the line at that !!!!

Men protest a LOT but you know they LOVE it. Infact I squeezed a spot for TOH – ingrown hair, plucked it out, and put spot cream on. I’ve never seen anyone act like a baby so much.
