Part of Etude House’s Sweet Recipe collection were these two cream eyeliners – I had to purchase them because I have a thing for cream and gel eyeliners!
This comes in two colours – dark chocolate and milk chocolate.
The chocolate smudge liners are extremely cute – they come in the little chocolate cases and the packaging is like sweets. It reminds me of those cheap lip balms you can get in 99p shops that comes in the shape of fruits.
Here they are – the cases are for show only I am afraid!
I also bought the brushes that go with this collection – one is a thin liner and the other is a smudge brush. The idea with these eyeshadows is that you can wear them as a liner OR shadow and they are perfect for smudging.
The brushes are fine, no complaints.
Dark chocolate is indeed a cool toned super dark brown. Milk chocolate is indeed like a milk chocolate – a warm brown which I thought would be better for daytime. The case is quite thick to carry around and the way it opens is a bit fiddly.
I have to say I am not too happy with these liners!
First off, the pigmentation is excellent, and rich. However when it comes to smudging the product – I find they are quite thick and are hard to blend evenly. One part has dried before you’ve had a chance to move the product around. I also dislike the finish when it dries – it comes out as a matte, quite ugly brown! I actually hated how it look as an eyeshadow so much that I had to remove it!
The light brown is the ugliest – it just made my eyes look quite dead and I would never wear a ugly matte brown like this on my lids, especially as it feels quite heavy in comparison to an eyeshadow.
I am quite disappointed by these cream liners! I wouldn’t reach for them at all, and as liners, they smudge.
Do you have any liners that you hate?
