I am absolutely, definitely a bargain hunter – I will seek out a good deal wherever possible, and I am so used to trawling the net for a discount code before I buy anything that I kinda feel cheated if I don’t find one prior to a purchase! Well…why pay full price if you can get away with it?!
I rarely go to TK Maxx because although I like a bargain I don’t like being elbowed by people or having to go through piles of mess to find something. The store near me is a lot tidier recently plus I don’t look for clothes there, just homeward and beauty items – I found some nice bits and pieces! First off…cosmetics!
They had lots of make up and beauty goods in TK Maxx, including Jemma Kidd and Nails Inc. I saw this nail polish set by Leighton Denny ‘The Little Black Dress – Capsule Collection’ with four minis for £7.99. It was the last one left! I have tried Leighton Denny polishes before and I find them really easy to apply and quite long lasting too:
Next up – I can’t take credit for this find, it was Bubblegarm who tweeted about this Guess How Much I Love You dinner set. I looked for this for weeks and it wasn’t there just a cheaper looking Paddington Bear one. Suddenly when I wasn’t looking- there was one set left! So I guess TK Maxx is varied like that.
This set is porcelain and comes with a bowl, plate and cup. It was just £6.99 and has a raised detail. the story actually annoys me – Big Nut Brown Hare is always trying to get one up on Little Nut Brown Hare!
I also found 2 things for the house a SIA candle holder in green for £4.99 and this one off clearance print which is a pretty bottle – reminds me of Guerlain Shalimar for just £3! On the back it says ‘Glamour’ by Adelene Fletcher. I believe it is hand painted, the gold of the painting is raised.
I also got some baby scissors with a curved end which I wanted as it’s useful for me to carry small scissors around so the rounded ends mean I won’t stab myself too much!
I do like TK Maxx now, one day I’ll be patient enough to look through the clothes and shoes – maybe!
