I ran out of cleanser so I needed a new one but I didn’t want to spend a fortune so I ended up in The Body Shop outlet – the more you buy the save so I bought 4 items (the forth item was cotton buds!) to get the maximum discount of 40%. I decided to try 3 different formulas; Nutriganics Softening Cleansing Gel Oil (£10) (Gel to Oil cleanser, no parabens or silicone, 99% natural), Aloe Facial Calming Cleanser (£8.50) and Camomile Cleansing Oil (£10).
So this is a bit of a speed review but here is what I found;
Nutriganics Softening Cleansing Gel Oil
– Great texture like a lightweight jelly. Didn’t get the whole ‘oil’ thing to be honest but it removed make up quite well (not eye make up) but felt comfortable to use and nice to massage it when cleansing. Leaves my skin a teeny teeny bit dry. Seemed to get through this quickly. However – downside – I got spots from using it! Boo! So will not repurchase.
Aloe Facial Calming Cleanser
– I have used this before and it’s a really lovely easy going lotion type cleanser. Doesn’t irritate my skin at all, removes make up ok (not as effective as the oil) BUT is gentler and doesn’t leave my skin dry at all. I think I will keep going back to this little gem of a cleanser, no point paying more for a cream cleanser right?
Camomile Cleansing Oil
– Nice texture again removes make up well – but a problem I have to cleansing oils is my skin feels tight afterwards and this is no exception despite there being a slight residue on the skin afterwards. Also caused some zits again – argh – unfortunately the best cleansing oils for me are FANCL and RMK still. this is certainly not a bad cleansing oil though and is half the price of some of the others I mentioned.
It was nice to experiment but the Aloe Facial Calming Cleanser is the only one I will repurchase.
