FOTD with YSL Ombre Solo Smoothing Eyeshadows!

FOTD-YSL-Make-up.jpg

Tweet I had a play with my new YSL Ombre Solo eyeshadows and new products in general and this is a quick FOTD (shot in the car, as usual!). I used Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation, Cashmere Brown eyeshadow, Midnight Black to line and some fawn to blend in around the crease. I used a nude white shade from Etude House under the brows to highlight and I used YSL Blush Variation 19 in Venetian Rose (a mixture of bronze and {Read More}

FOTD: Clinique Black Tie Violet / Tuxedo Plums Look

Tweet So this Clinique collection has been out forever, but I finally picked up some pieces to play with. I find the silver Clinique packaging very comforting – I think because its stayed the same forever and reminds me my mothers lipstick and compacts. For the lips, I got Different Lipstick in A Different Grape and Full Potential Lipgloss in Bloomberry: Shimmering Stripe Blusher in Tuxedo Plum: Colour Surge Eye Shadow Quad in Plum Seduction and Brush on Cream Liner {Read More}

My Halloween Look 2009

Tweet Happy Halloween! Did you have a good one? I’m afraid I completely avoided the glow in the dark fangs and plastic pumpkin buckets this year, as I was, for once in my life, not babysitting – readers, I was ditched by a 9 year old. She had other plans. That said, who needs a snotty, nit-infested brat to have fun on ghoul night anyway? (bitter? moi?). Here is the look I did on Halloween which did not quite turn {Read More}

Recessionista Face: The £25 Face with Boots No. 17

Tweet So I have been getting quite a few emails from readers who want me to look at more affordable make up. Its a fair request – the lady (that’s me) does have rather expensive tastes in make up but of course, we all have different priorities and make up is unlikely to be near the top if you have bills to pay, kids to look after etc. etc. So I am doing a series of face looks for £25 {Read More}

Inspired FOTD: Green Make Up Look from Wicked the Musical….Elphaba

Tweet Blame Ugly Betty Everything about the Musical, Wicked, made me want to hate it. The cheesy excerpts of songs from the show that I had heard on Ugly Betty, the fact that Elphaba’s name comes from The Wizard of Oz creator, L. Frank Baum’s name (L.F.B = El-pha-ba = cheesy and corny). I booked tickets to see the London show because they were the cheapest tickets I could find for a musical (£15 for the stalls!) – I went {Read More}

FOTD: Inspired Snow Leopard

Tweet Snow Leopard, come to mama! At just £25 to upgrade, the latest OS X operating system is a little bit of a rip off seeing as I a. Got Leopard as a gift at Xmas, costing £80 and b. People in the US are paying $29 for it. That makes me think it should be more like £18 in the UK, not £25. But I digress. Snow Leopards aren’t actually very white, more light grey and creamy! Here is {Read More}

FOTD, Inspired By Series No. 1: Guitar Hero

Tweet Starting today, I’m going to start doing FOTD’s that are inspired by…stuff. Stuff, since this is me we’re talking about could be anything. A chocolate hob-nob, a sprig of coriander, an extractor fan…..maybe not an extractor fan. Someone asked me once if my middle name was extractor….but I digress. No. 1: Inspired by Guitar Hero (for PS3, if you care)! This is actually a rather good game even though I am really bad at it! Read on to see {Read More}

Haul: Nars Autumn Collection Silk Road & Mekong & FOTD

Tweet I went down to Nars on my lunch the other day to look at the new collection – and its pretty nice. I came away with two items, Silk Road Duo and Mekong Single Eyeshadow. I also got some gossip about upcoming Nars goodies, the new foundations in matte and satin (which have already been reported around the web), new Mascaras, Liquid felt tip liners and new multiple highlighter (hurrah!). The Christmas collections also sound fab – mini multiples?! {Read More}
