I was talking to an old University friend the other day and we reminisced about how back in the day, her sister bought her a Stila Lip Glaze, which was £20 back then for a large tube, and we were both in awe of it since when I was a student, £20 for a make up product was WAY out there. I still have a soft spot for lip glazes now because they remind me of a time when there was something special about not being able to have everything instantly; it made it more special…it certainly isn’t like these days where my 15 year old cousin will buy an Anastasia brow wiz pencil or a Jo Malone candle. But I digress.
In recent years I haven’t used that much Stila, but they are certainly turning my head now with their selection of palettes. I love love love having everything I need in one place – makes life so much easier, makes my make up bag smaller.
Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye and Cheek Palettes come in 4 variations for various skintones. I have the Light/Medium.
In this palette is a selection of 5 eyeshadows and two blushers, a more neutral colour and a pop.
The combinations are fair/light, light/medium, medium/tan, tan/deep. The beauty is you can most definitely use other palettes outside of your skintone! If I were choosing I would actually pick tan/deep as I am a sucker for orange on the eyes.
However, light/medium is a good every day fool proof palette. It works on my NC35 skintone but would also work for people with fairer skin, blue eyes etc. It’s pretty neutral.
The eyeshadows are on the top – the base colour is on the left although I actually thought it was a highlighter at first (and it works nicely as that or to set concealer under the eyes as it’s quite sheer). You get a matte creamy white, a matte warm brown, a shimmery iced mocha, and a dark matte brown.
There’s a matte light pink blush and a dusty brown rose blue too.
I am impressed by the texture of these colours – they are pigmented enough and very soft with a buttery feel. I know that the colours are dupable but it’s handy to have them in one place. I like the generous sized mirror you get with each palette.
Here I am wearing the eyeshadows and blush:
