RMK Skincare Favourites; Cleansing Balm, Firming Essence, Recovery Gel & Massage Balm!

RMK remains one of my favourite Japanese beauty and skincare brands – I just have a soft spot for them – and there’s some products that I have used for years.  Cosmetic wise, their RMK creamy foundation and Mascara are my staples.  Skincare wise, here are my favourites!

1. RMK Cleansing Balm

I’ve used various RMK cleansers over the years – I like the cleansing balm because it rinses off easily and can be really worked into the skin for a good cleanse.  It has a sherbet type texture which is a bit easier going than some of the other balms i have used over the years which give me allergic reactions.

I don’t use this all the time, just when I feel like my skin needs something a bit more.

Hydrogenated Polydecene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Tri Isostearate, Paraffin, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Fragrance (Parfum), Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Wax, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Buxus Chinensis) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Ethylene/Propylene copolymer, Polyethylene, 2-Ethylhexyl Dimethoxybenzylidene Dioxoimidazolidine Propionate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dimethoxy Di-p-Cresol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, BHT, Lauroyl Lysine, Tocopherol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Red 7 (CI 15850:1).

2. RMK Firming Essence

One of the lesser discussed products from the RMK range – I have been using this every day for the last month and I do think it makes a difference. They say:

RMK Firming Essence draws on 4 revitalizing ingredients such as Rice Bran Extract and White Tea Extract to target the main causes of aging – oxidization and dehydration of the skin. Its special formula works to drench and restore the resiliency of the skin, whilst Royal Jelly Extract and ?Carotene strengthening the skin’s innate power to prolong its optimal state.

A lot of firming serums I use are just too ‘active’ for my sensitive skin type. With this, I feel like my skin is more plump than usual without any irritation. RMK Skincare Favourites Cleansing Balm Firming Essence Recovery Gel Massage Balm 1

3. RMK Recovery Gel

One of the jewels in RMK’s crown, Recovery gel I have used for absolutely ages and it’s the perfect skin pep up treat. I love it.  This clear orange scented gel has lots of little white beads in it which burst when you apply on to your skin.  It is used as an overnight treatment and it always helps my skin look smoother, juicier, softer the next day. It’s good for dehydrated or rough skin. It’s similar to the overnight masks that Asian brands are so fond of, but not as gimmicky and more effective.

4. RMK Massage Balm

Now discontinued (boo!!!! RMK are quite ruthless with discontinuing things so if you love something you might have to stock up!).  This thick balm melts with warmth, and can be applied to the skin prior to a little facial massage. It smells lovely and also has a lovely moisturising effect on the skin. It’s the only product I have in my collection like it and I will be sad when I run out.

RMK skincare is not particularly cheap – products are usually around the £29+ range but they are really high quality and last forever.

Beauty Bay have a good selection of RMK items online here but I also find the counters are good for handing out samples if you want to test anything first.

Out of EVERYTHING, if you were to make your first foray into RMK Skincare I would totally recommend the Recovery Gel!

Have you tried RMK skincare?
