Olympics Opening Ceremony

Did cha see it? Did you love it?

It was on at a totally impractical hour, when I was at work…boo hoo! Anyway, boyfy has downloaded the opening with TVB (Hong Kong’s tv channel) which is a million times better than the BBC coverage. Damn you BBC! And I’m forced to pay £136 a year?!

I really enjoyed the opening anyway. I am thinking what my beloved London will come up with for 2012. Brits are so-so about the Olympics. As my friends in London said,

‘How will I get on the bloody tube with all those tourists?’

This is the most hideous Logo I have ever seen in my life. It cost taxpayers £400,000. It looks like an 80s throwback logo – the design, the colours, the idea. Bad Bad Bad.

I do have some great ideas for the opening ceremony though. Instead of dancers or gymnasts, or anyone with talent, we could have girls aloud lip syncing God Save the Queen, then we’ll have a group of hoodies run on to the stage and karate chop each one of the band members, then they can turn around and flash ‘WELCOME TO LONDON’ on their butts. Yes, that would work. Do not steal my idea, Lord Coe.

This is a real show, by the way.

  1. Ha…I grew up watching TVB…even when I moved to Canada, there is a TV that’s airs everything from TVB so It has been with me until I was 14 or 15.

My dad was so pissed thinking that I won’t learn any English watching those Cantonese drama all the time, now he got his wish…haven’t speak Cantonese/mandarin for a few years and I already can’t ask direction in Hong Kong without English words…(My Chinese got better now though…or I think.)

P.S Your uncle is so young…
P.P.S. That’s indeed an ugly logo

  2. LOL ROFL!!
agreed; sooooooooo uglyyyyyy ><” how and why on earth?!! *lost*

and is that really your uncle? rofl !!!! hahhahaha

your idea sounds fab; now sell it to make more money for lunasol XD!!

  3. Hey Citrine

I love TVB but its very expensive to subscribe to in the UK – with a tv licence and sky charges….its a bit too much to add TVB too!

Thats funny I learned my crappy cantonese FROM watching tv series and everyone was scared i’d only speak english – which I mostly do but I think I think in Chinese!

P.S. Its not really my uncle!

    P.P.S Hideous isn’t it?!

  4. Hey Helly!

    Its not really my uncle!

Oh yeah, I am going to sell my idea and buy everything from Lunasol yeahhhhhhhhhhh!

  5. That logo look sooo simple and boring, anyone can do that…haha.

  6. LOL and for a second there I thought that was actually your uncle – which would have been SO COOL!

The whole Opening Ceremony was pretty kick-ass, loved the drummers in the beginning! But damn, TVB pisses me off sometimes. Sometimes the commentators say the most redundant crap ever, and my mom gets pissed off watching their Olympics coverage. So sometimes we flip to ATV.

And man…the London logo is flippin’ gross.

  7. Miss____

    Yes yes its rubbish, totally

  8. Hey Gigi

Hehe….I do like Chinese channels. In the UK the commentators are really really sarcastic which is fine, cos most Brits are sarcastic but there’s a time and a place. I thought it was stunning, I liked the drummers, I liked the blocks that moved up and down too. Ooh I get goosebumps thinking about it.

Sorry I am not cool tis definately not my uncle – maybe he would adopt me tho.

  9. LOL, that’s the first thing I saw when I watched it, well the second – the first was WOW, then ..oh crap we’re next…we’ll be remembered as that shit Olympics after Beijing :D
The giant globe was amazing and the drummers – my jaw hit the floor.
Hopefully somewhere someone in charge of 2012 has woken up and is planning something….

  10. Hey Chica!

I hope we think of something entertaining, dramatic, fun. Enough of the street dancing hug a hoodie crap! If its a dance troupe with George Sampson leading I will kill myself. I say if it all goes wrong bring out Elton and George!
