So last week my mama called to say I had a mysterious package in a black envelope at home. Black envelopes = Illamasqua…but I hadn’t ordered anything.
Turns out to be a lovely surprise as Illamasqua sent me one of their new Powdered Metals (released officially on the 13th July).

When I heard powdered metals I presumed they were for the eyes but these are actually more all rounders – hair, skin, eyes, face.
There are 3 shades, Ezrule (Golden Bronze for darker skintones), Thalia (Bronze with Gold tones for Medium skin tones) and Bebhionn (Pink with gold tones).
I got Bebhionn:

My first overwhelming thought is how unmetallic it is – and I mean that in a good way. The powder is very fine textured, and the it is not overly pigmented – it is very low shimmer compared to say (I forget what they were called) the MAC loose powder highlighters (I have a bunch of them I never use but they are tooooo much. Talk about pore magnification). This gives more of a ‘gilded’ soft pinky look. Basically, its flattering.

This one is good for the pale ladies but to be honest, it makes a really natural blush/highlight for people with medium skintones like me (and makes a change from the obvious bronze looks for summer).
Not sure of the price yet – shall I guess? I guess about £18-£20 and I want a cookie if I am right. Its quite a big jar, I would certainly be tempted to to pick up Thalia too.
