My naughty scalp hasn’t been behaving again – I have been struggling with the numerous shampoos I have opened in the shower (for every thing!) because everything was making my scalp itch or become oily quickly.
Then I found this little shampoo in Odylique which is apparently for troublesome scalps like mine. This is a Tea Tree & Herb shampoo and is blessedly free SLS, SLes and ALS, artificial fragrance etc. GOOD.
It also comes in a posh pump – shampoo has to be posh if it comes with a pump, right?
More about this shampoo before I critique – this is a clarifying shampoo which contains coconut oil and anti-fungal organic tea tree oil.
It also contains Aloe Vera juice, horsetail, rosemary and nettle for scalp health. It is 100% derived of natural origin and 70% organic.
Ok so this shampoo is WONDERFUL for troublesome oily scalps like mine.
The pale yellowish shampoo smells quite strongly of tea tree – not something I have a problem with but the smell doesn’t linger on the hair so tea tree haters, do not worry you won’t smell like a medicine cupboard.
It is quite a low lather shampoo because it doesn’t contain all the usual foaming agents – not an issue really, because I don’t trust overly foamy- products anyway. I have to use 3-4 pumps to cover all of my head though. You also need to leave it on the scalp for a few minutes for maximum benefits – shave your armpits or something in the mean time.
Anyway the important thing is my scalp became flake free after using this shampoo just 3 times, and the itch was reduced dramatically, – almost entirely actually. Who needs horrible T-Gel!?
Also my hair did not get horribly oily again within a day – I can take a break from shampooing regularly with this stuff which is great because it is quite stripping to wash your hair every day.
What I also like about this shampoo is that sometimes with organic SLS free shampoos my scalp is better but my hair is dryer, more tangled and less shiny – I do not have this problems with the Odylique, my hair still feels soft and shiny afterwards (I do need to use a conditioner though).
This product is a completely random find but what a find it is. It is also reasonably priced at £11 – I will most definitely buy this when I have run out of this bottle. It has made my uncomfortable scalp feel much better and I can finally stop worrying about flakes and itchiness.
