My 1 Year Wedding Anniversary and a Romantic Jewel Candle Competition and Discount Code!

I was married a year ago today. Time has flown by and with the arrival of Baby H, life has been so very hectic but I wouldn’t change any of it!  Someone said to me once that being married actually feels the same as being in a long term relationship with someone, and it does feel the same but definitely is like the sugar on the top.

I commissioned some art work for Mr C as a anniversary present and it turns out he did the same for me! Mine is us drawn in the style of The Simpsons – with any future family additions I will the same artist to do us a new drawing! I think it’ll be a cute record of our family.

Turns out Mr C also went for a art, he commissioned a painting of us in a ‘Spirited Away’ scene (a film in case you don’t know, one of my favourites).  1st year anniversary is Paper, so it seems totally appropriate!

Also to celebrate, I have a really cute candle to give away to a reader from ‘Jewel Candle’ – a range of handmade candles which have a piece of jewellery (either a ring or earrings) worth anything from £10-£250 in each jar! So once the wax has burned away you will have a permanent memento!

I have chosen the candle, ‘True Love’ as a prize for one reader (Rose scented) – however, if you win feel free to take your pick from the variety of scents, such as ‘Sweet Cupcake’, ‘Passion Fruit’, ‘Pink Cherry’, ‘Pina Colada’ etc.

The jewellery in the candle is random so a nice surprise, and it takes up to 10-15 hours of the candle burning before the it is revealed (although you can scoop it out with a spoon if you are impatient!). Each piece of jewellery has the price tag attached too so you know the value of it.

What a cute idea for a gift, I love it!

My favourite anniversary would have to be my 1 month debt free! It’s just gone by and I feel light as air not having the stresses of debts clouding me constantly!

The Simpsons picture is fantastic! The candle is very unusual too, love it.

My 1st wedding anniversary was perfect, a weekend away in Portmeirion and I was also just pregnant with our daughter.

Mine would have to be my first wedding anniversary. We were on holiday in the USA and were staying in a fancy hotel in Boston. My husband organised for us to have a candlelit dinner in an amazing restaurant, at the top of the tallest building in Boston. It was obviously the place to go for special occasions as there were birthday, engagement and anniversary parties dining all around us, and a warm feeling of love throughout the whole room.

How lovely. The best anniversary (although we’ve only had two! so far) was this year when we realised we’d been celebrating on the wrong day. Whoops!
