Melvita Bouquet Floral Cleansing Range; Softening Cleansing Milk and Gentle Cleansing Jelly

Melvita is fast becoming one of my favourite brands for reasonably priced, eco-friendly, natural cleansers.  Their range is vast with textures and formulas for all skin types. I’ve tried a large selection from the range, most recently two products from their Bouquet Floral Cleansing Range which comes in these snazzy plastic blue bottles:

Melvita Bouquet Floral Cleansing Range Softening Cleansing Milk and Gentle Cleansing Jelly

Those cleansers are extra gentle and contain orange blossom floral extract. There’s a milk cleanser, cleansing jelly, foam cleanser, Micellar water, Cleansing cream and an eye make up remover – told you the range is vast! I have the Softening Cleansing Mil (£16.50 for 200ml) and Gentle Cleansing Jelly (£16 for 200ml) here.

Firstly, the Bouquet Floral range has quite an usual scent – it’s not herbal, it is definitely floral but not in the traditional sense – it has a more earthy edge than that and it took me a while to get used to at first.  Sometimes it almost smells like sweeties, sometimes it has a bitter edge like orange peel.

The Cleansing Milk is a lightweight simple cleanser. It removes make up (but not waterproof, I always need more for that).

The Cleansing Jelly is a clear gel, it’s supposed to have a foaming action but this is very subtle.

In fact, comparing the two products, they are quite similar – the gel turns into a milky texture like the Cleansing Milk, therefore they are not that different from each other. I would say the Cleansing Milk is slightly less drying on my skin, so I prefer that over the Jelly, but I’ve been quite happy using both or mix and matching.  The Cleansing Jelly leaves a slightly more refreshing finish to the skin so may be better for oily-normal skin types.

There is also a cleansing foam and micellar water in this collection, but if I could try more I would pick the Cleansing Cream, as I do find these far less drying.

If I had any complaint, is that these don’t remove tough make up like say, a cleansing oil or cleansing balm (Melvita do an excellent cleansing oil actually, so that could pair up nicely with the milk for a double cleanse).  Sill, I’ve had a  nice time using these products, and they are still on the bathroom shelf now – I’ll be finishing both of these up.
