Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner Review

Maybelline, like all the other big cosmetic brands tend to release Asia only releases (especially when it comes to whitening ranges!) and I spotted this Hyper Sharp Liner on eBay which I am guessing is exclusive to that part of the world.

Asian brands are mad about the super duper thin liquid “sharp” eyeliner – I guess it’s to do with eye shape.  When you have a small crease like me, a thick line will take up all that space and makes the eye look heavier.  A thin eyeliner looked more balanced and flattering, usually.

This product is only. 0.05mm yo! (The tip anyway). I actually have one somewhere that is 0.01mm!

This product comes in pen form which is my favourite kind of liquid eyeliner, I find it easier to use cos it’s just like drawing!

The nib is soft but like a felt tip pen.  The thickness can be controlled depending on if you just use the tip or press harder or tip the liner to the side.

I have to say I found this easy to use but not as easy as foam type nibs (like Lancome Artliner) as I find the sponge easier to control. Nevertheless, if you struggle with normal liquid liners you shouldn’t find this too difficult to use.

The pen itself is also very skinny and easy to carry round! I do prefer refillable liners as you can usually push out more ink if necessary and do a stronger line which you can’t with these disposable ones.

I’m afraid my attempts with this liner were just so so. I couldn’t get it quite a close to my lashes as i wanted, but I would still keep using this until it dries out.  It’s quite a pigmented black so i have no issues with that part of the product.

I found it quite long wearing, it lasted the day without smudging on me.

I purchased this from eBay for around £7.

What is your favourite liquid eyeliner?
