Macaroon Makeup? Skinfood Macaroon Mini Fact Pink Glow Concealer & Highlighter

I have never tried a macaroon until recently, when I went to a Bodyshop Bloggers event – there were tons of them on the table!

Naturally I just had to buy the Skinfood Macaroon Mini Pact – even though I don’t quite know what a Mini Pact is – just incase it smelt like a macaroon.

Ok here’s what they say it does.

The mini pact is a concealer which covers imperfections and flaws. It comes with a mirror and big sponge for application, and comes in two shades, Pink and Gold.

I actually decided to go for pink as a change. There’s no guides which tell you which one is best for what kind of skintone so I just had to guess!

Here is the giant sponge:

As soon as I got this, I thought – bleh. Why did I buy yet another pointless concealer thing?!This pink is very much a highlighter shade – it’s pearly, it has quite a firm texture. But I was going to use it as a concealer, since that is what it’s supposed to be!

I really don’t quite understand this product fully – but you know what? It’s pretty damn good.

As a highlighter or a concealer. Yes, it sort of covers blemishes and imperfections. It gave me a really nice glow and made my eye circles look lighter (although admittedly, you have to use it with a light hand!).

You can see there’s a slight glow where I applied it. It’s quite nice to apply with the sponge too amazingly enough.

I paid about £11 for this on eBay.

It looks good! I love macaroons, they seem to be everywhere at the moment; Space NK sent me one of their brochures and it seems chantecaille has a new selection of eye shadows out which take inspiration from macaroons :-)

The pink has to stink though, especially for being ‘concealer’ I always find too much pink in one makes me look worse altogether. Interesting packaging and yummy scent. I neeed some Korean makeup! x
