Love Asian products, but hate waiting for them to arrive, or shopping on eBay? It’s a problem I know some beauty lovers have, as I get so many emails asking if some of the products I test are available in the UK.
The answer is…it depends on what it is. Some brands are completely impossible to buy online, and some are hugely inflated in price. I was contacted about a UK based shop, Lunatu, which sells Asian make up at reasonable prices (in line or just slightly more expensive than other Asian based cosmetic stores). I picked two items from the store to review; KATE Colourious Diamond Eyeshadow BK-1 and 3CE Lipstick in Honey Pink 104.
Both of these brands I am familiar with – I like 3CE products (as long as they are genuine – there are a lot of fakes on eBay) and I have wanted to try the KATE shadows for a while. BK-1 is an interesting smokey-grey combination palette.
3CE Lipsticks come in a selection of colours and textures (I will be reviewing many of my purchases on this blog soon). Honey Pink 104 is a pretty mid toned wearable pink with no shimmer. It leaves a slightly glossy finish and is medium pigmented.
The KATE eyeshadow palette has 5 colours and typically Japanese, they are a little similar and have a sheer shimmery quality to them. If you think 5 colour is overkill, well, it is very common for Japanese palettes to have quite a few colours in one palette to choose from!
I found the eyeshadow colours to be soft, nicely pigmented (but not intensely so – like many Japanese shadows, it’s more of a shimmer-wash for the lighter shades) and flattering to wear.
The lipstick is not the softest 3CE lipstick I have – in fact it’s a harder textured on which I don’t mind because the pigment is good. I’ve noticed 3CE lipstick textures greatly depending on the colour you buy! I like the shade which is a light pink on me, without looking too pale.
There’s a lovely shimmery quality that is hard to capture here!
