Lips Love These: DHC Premium Lipstick GE Review and Swatches

DHC is one of those staple Japanese brands that is understated but reliable once you get into into the range.  They are known mainly for skincare but they also have a range of cosmetics (I love their foundation) and recently I tested a few of their Premium Lipstick GE range.

The Premium Lipstick GE collection consists of 6 shades and has anti-ageing properties.  It contains vitamin A, macadamia nut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil,l collagen and more to hydrate the lips.

Here are the 4 pretty colours I have.  They come in box packaging with the rose design.

The lipsticks come in lightweight metal tubes with the rose print etched on the bottom.  It’s quite elegant and unintrusive packaging – it doesn’t take up unnecessary space in my make up bag which I like.

The four colours I have indicate the kind of shades these DHC lipsticks come in; very natural and wearable.  I think with a lot of Japanese lip colours you will find they are sheer and in natural hues because they are just the colours worn everyday by the ladies there.

The texture of these lipsticks is divine – my lips absolutely adore them.

My lips are naturally dry and as much as I want to wear these matte super bright colours they don’t always look flattering on me.  This DHC lipstick however, is super soothing, super nourishing and it was a real pleasure to wear – it felt like I was applying a treatment to my lips, not a colour.

These lipsticks were not hugely long lasting and didn’t leave a stain but I didn’t mind reapplying as it feels like a balm anyway.

The shades – very natural and a little bit similar in some cases.  You probably don’t need all 6 of these, but you might want to invest in say a pink and a orange.

Despite the glossy finish there is good pigment in this lip stick – 2 coats gave a pretty colour and good coverage.

The lip colours.

PK102 is a sheer light pink:

RS105 is a pretty rose pink, one of my favourites:

BE111 is a nude beige that isn’t deathly so will go with a number of things:

OR112 is a wearable tangerine orange that is quite soft and not at all garish.

I do think these lipsticks smooth and plump the lips up – you can see my lips look smoother despite them being quite dry and lined at the moment.

I guess if you are looking for something bright and bold you won’t find it in this collection, but if you want something extremely kind to the lips and wearable with just about anything, then these lipsticks are a winner.

These lipsticks cost £13 each and there are 6 colours to choose from:

Petal Pink (PK102)

First Blush (RS105)

Rich Raspberry (RS107)

Velvety Red (RD109)

Rose Gold (BE111)

Bold Persimmon (OR112)
