I know that La Mer is an expensive range and the cream evokes feelings of love and hate – but I personally have always loved the brand (or the products I have tried anyway). The Lip Balm is amazing, so is the foundation.
So did I have high hopes the The Radiant Concealer? Of Course!
A treatment cream concealer that optically corrects dark circles and blemishes to create a naturally flawless finish.
This concealer comes with a little pouch and a decent brush. The compact itself is quite small with a mirror. I like the size of the compact because I generally dislike over the top heavy clunky packaging.
The La Mer The Radiant Concealer comes in three shades, Light, Medium and Dark but it isn’t THAT dark so I think this range would work for olive skins but not beyond that.
You get 3.5g of concealer in the tub.
I have shade medium. I would say it’s ok for under my eyes (I am about NC35 in MAC or Medium Beige in Dior, 40 in Chanel) but a tad pale for my face. Not the end of the world though, I find concealers that are slightly lighter are easily blended in once foundation and powder is on.
The concealer looks like this:
In terms of texture, I would say this is quite a firm cream concealer. It’s the kind that goes hard when it’s cold and needs warming up – it’s not full on creamy like Bobbi Brown under eye concealers, and it kind of reminds me of a softer version of the RMK concealer (which is a TREMENDOUS concealer but is too thick for under the eyes).
This concealer is neither too thick nor too creamy. To be honest with the current climate I would prefer something a bit softer and creamier (but this also creases quicker on me) so this product, mixed with a dab of eye cream is ideal:
For the face, again it works quite well. It most definitely does conceal well and adds a bit of luminosity to the skin too. If you have quite extreme dark circles this will cover and conceal no problem.
If you have less of a problem, I’d say use something lighter.
This is supposed to be a treatment concealer that is good for the skin (especially around the eyes). I do worry about the effect of using heavy concealer around my eyes as I am getting more and more wrinkly in that area!
During – just use a bit:
Overall La Mer’s The Radiant Concealer is a great addition to my collection and a good multi tasker. It costs £45 which is expensive but I think worth it for a good concealer.
