Rimmel London’s Kate Moss Lipstick collection was mighty popular the last time I passed a Boots counter; the nudes in particular seemed to be sold out. However I don’t think the range is Limited so there’s no rush!

Image; Kate Moss photographs so well (obviously):

The Kate Collection Rimmel London

I have some lip swatches for you. I haven’t done many for a while because I find it really causes flaking after a while (taking the product off and reapplying!) but this is a range I had to swatch!

These lip sticks are quite creamy and pigmented although not overly so. With 2 layers you can get a really rich colour. I can’t say the texture is phenomenal but considering the price it’s pretty good.

I have quite a golden skintone.

01 Red:

A nice general use red, quite flattering and not drying.

02 Hot Pink:

Nicer on than in the tube with good coverage and very wearable.

03 Nude:

A really beige nude shade and I like this a lot even though there’s a time and place for it! Also as I am quite olive, this colour can look TOO pale on me, what can be worse than a white-ish lipstick with tan skin?!  If you are lighter than me and you like nudes then you can definitely rock this kind of shade.

04 Purple:

It’s hard to photograph and quite unforgiving on the lips. It’s a deep purple though, what da ya expect?!

05 Soft Pink:

A more natural pink in the collection and somewhat more shimmery.  I imagine this will be a popular shade.

Whoops – realised too late my image of 08 is missing. Will add later!

12 Orange:

This is sheerer than suggested in barrel and is quite flattering and pretty to wear although it might work better for the summer!

My favourites are: 01, 02 although I wouldn’t wear these that regularly and finally 08 for every day wear.

These lipsticks cost £5.49 each and were released nationwide on the 28th September 2011.

Would you try any of these shades?

No. 12 looks a lot softer on you than me – maybe because I’m a bit paler? It looks super orange on me!
