Who could miss Kate Moss’ lipstick collection for Rimmel London a few weeks back?
The Lipstick Collection contains 7 Shades in black packaging with a Kate signature and heart, and the lipsticks have numbers not names; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and curiously, 8 and 12. There’s a good selection of shades, from red, pinks, nudes and a funky purple:
The packaging is fine, quite simple and sleek.
As I have so many images of these lipsticks, this is Part 1 and later on is Part 2 which is lip swatches.
No. 1 is a true red – I usually go for orange reds I think this is more of a blue red. It looks nice on Kate and is the lipstick used in the main promo image:
02 is a hot pink. It’s a nice hot pink, quite wearable and the kind of shade I go for! I’d like it with a touch more blue:
03 is a beige nude, quite a ‘dead’ nude so is the one you would go for if you do the smokey eyes thing! This is traditionally my go to shade although these days I look for a bit more pigment. If you like nudes though, this is a great one:
04 is a deep purple – obviously the wild card of the bunch but I am sure you could either wear this colour to make a statement or mix it with something else!
05 is a softer rose pink. It is not as pigmented as the earlier shades, giving more of a sheer and shimmer effect.
We skip a few numbers and go to 8 which is also a natural shade but more of a muted rose. I like this a lot although it’s also more of a sheer compared to a cream:
12 is an orange but not garish – more of a tangerine than a coral. Quite a summery shade:
I did a swipe of each colour I didn’t bother going over and over it so this way you can get a realistic idea of the pigmentation (which is great as far as I am concerned) but it’s not say, YSL Rouge Volupte.
So far so good! Come back later for lip swatches!
