I decided to order these new releases from Kanebo KATE – Lasting Gel Eyeliners – because I thought they’d be like the Avon Supershock Gel Liners but longer lasting and smudgeproof.
KATE is such a good brand for the price:
I ordered this gel eyeliner in 2 shades, brown and soft black rather than my usual hard dramatic black – I’ve realised it’s just too much for day to day.
So my items arrived, one is a warm mid toned brown and soft black is more of a grey-charcoal:
My first thoughts is that this eyeliner isn’t very creamy or soft – nothing like the Avon eye pencil. In fact it’s borderline dry but at least it doesn’t drag the skin. It takes a while to get decent pigmentation either – maybe this is the price of long lasting eyeliner?!
I used this recently and it’s a good pencil although I don’t think it works well on the waterline – too dry. It is a good long lasting pencil though, can’t take that away from it – no doubt the dry texture helps it to stick especially though my teary tired eyes.
The result is very soft, very natural. Excuse my crimped lashes, it’s just one of those days:
Overall, these just aren’t as good as I thought they’d be – I wanted super soft AND long lasting. These are good pencils and I will continue to use them especially for on the bottom lashes (too dry for my waterline and top lid) but I don’t think these are the best pencils you can get.
Oh – mind you – contact lens wearers who are concerned with make up getting into the eye, you can consider this because it’s not a flaky, smudgy eyeliner at all.
I bought these from adambeauty.com.
