Innisfree Color Glow Lipstick and Glossy Lip Lacquer in Mist Purple!

Innisfree, the eco friendly Korean cosmetics and skincare brand appear to be emerging from the shadows its the brighter, bigger, bolder Korean sisters, and have been making some really interesting colour products lately.  For Autumn 2013, they launched a new selection of lipsticks and lip glosses, which look like any of their other lip products but have a particularly nice selection of Autumn friendly, pigmented colours.

I certainly found it quite hard to choose, but decided on Mist Purple in the Color Glow Lipstick and the Glossy Lip Lacquer, because I am matchy-matchy like that.

See, the packaging is still rather vanilla (ie. bland).

The visuals from this collection is yummy – where so many Asian brands do extremely sheer, shiny lip colours, I am glad to see some brands are breaking out and doing truly pigmented shades.

This is Yoona wearing 6, Maple Burgundy Pink (I believe):

I want my hair colour like hers!

Despite the face it looks oh so lovely on her, I decided it would be a bit dark for my day to day so I went for the friendlier, blue based purple which looks more hot-pink-ish in swatches.

All the shades – I had to really be good to not buy my usual nude pink hue:

The Color Glow Lipstick is a rich and creamy formula that is not dissimilar to a lip balm. It melts into the lips and leaves a pretty, shiny finish. The pigmentation is medium, so it’s like a glossy stick that leaves a nice wash of colour.

Glossy Lip Laquer comes in a chubby container, and it is a rather thick textured gloss, but is also rich in pigmentation – in fact it is much more pigmented than the lipstick which takes some getting used to as it normally the other way around.

I really am just learning to adapt to wearing more colour on the lips than eyes, but this duo is a really wearable and face brightening pair – I like them!

The lipstick is a great texture for this dry weather, and keeps my lips feeling soft. Downside is that it isn’t mad pigmented and its not particularly long lasting either. This is the lipstick alone:

In this case if you want COLOUR, the gloss is the way to go. This packs far more punch than the lipstick and it gives a more in your face shine rather than the subtle balmy one. If you want a wearable pink purple get the lipstick, if you want more brightness, get the gloss, or be stupid like me and buy both.

Here are the two colours, worn with each other. You can get a good finish with the gloss alone but I guess the lipstick adds an extra dimension, provides a base, and will make the overall lip colour last a teeny bit longer.

I can’t complain about these two, I paid about £6 an item, and they do make my lips feel healthy whilst giving a lot of pretty yet still bold colour too.  A lot of bold lipstick this season are just too drying and at least these two keep everything feeling healthy.  I do recommend them, if you can find a shade that suits. I am tempted to buy Maple Burgundy Pink now!

What do you think of these lip colours?
