Holika Holika Heartful Moisture Lipstick and Silky Lipstick Review; SRD 802 and Kissing Red RD808

I purchased both of these Holika Holkia lipsticks a while ago, and never got round to using them. They’re so cute! I thought. But never got around to using them. Well I decided recently to crack open a lot of products I have left lingering, so here they are – the Heartful Lipstick collections.  They are both mini sized, so handy for the handbag, and are cut in the shape of hearts – SWEETS!

There are two versions; Heartful Moisture Lipstick and Heartful Silky Lipstick (on the left and right, respectively).

Heartful MOISTURE is a creamy soft formula with a long lasting glossy pigmented colour. It contains various oils (sweet orange, grapefruit and olive oil) .

Heartful SILKY is a lightweight textured lipstick, and it is a MATTE finish.

Here are the lipsticks – sorry it doesn’t come across so well but they are smaller than an average lipstick – they are both a metal finish, one is silky, one is matte, and there’s no bulk on here, so waste of space-age.

As I have a million lipsticks I chose two colours I wouldn’t normal go for.

RD808 is a true bright orange red. This is the Moisture formula.

SRD802 is a deep blackened berry (IN THE TUBE!). This is the matte formula.

The pretty heart shape also functions to help with the application. It’s actually quite easy to apply these colours to the lips as the heart ‘bumps’ fit into the cupids bow.

Heartful Moisture in RD808 is a bright red, it’s smooth to apply, soft and rich in texture.

Heartful Silky SRD802 is disappointingly browny-red as opposed to the super blackened berry I wanted it to be. It is also so NOT a matte! There’s definitely a nice sheen to it.

There’s the Moisture lipstick first. This wears so nicely, much better than my hand swatch and I found this red wearable, where I usually struggle to fund the right red for me.

I like the glossy finish too:

The Silky lipstick as I mentioned before, for me, lacks the depth in the tube but when applied is actually ok if you are looking for a burnt brown red type lipstick.  It is not a plum or berry in any way. Once applied the finish is a semi matte with a slight sheen. It is drier and less comfortable to wear than the Moisture lipstick, as expected, but is slightly more long lasting.

Overall – these lipsticks are both a nice design, compact, cute, pigmented and wearable. Yet, I don’t feel any burning desire RIGHT NOW to buy more colours. Perhaps is a really interesting colour comes out then I will consider buying more.

I personally prefer the Moisture finish as I like a glossy healthier lip look.

I bought these from eBay (only about £4 per stick!).

  1. They look nice on you ~~

  2. I’ve been wanting to buy these lipsticks for the longest time! I’ve heard good and bad things though. Do you find they sink into your lip lines at all?

    • Hi Joann

Hmm no I didn’t find they were bad for sinking in to lines. I guess over the course of a few hours they started to settle a little but as they’re quite soft and hydrating they don’t look bad (the MOISTURE formula), SILKY is drier and more likely to sink in. :)
