What is the most iconic hair straightener of all? It has to be the GHDs right? To the point where people I know actually ask for GHDs rather than saying ‘Hair Straighteners’!
GHDs also release special editions every now and then with different colours and designs to keep things interesting (although my first pair lasted for years before I needed some new ones – its always nice to have a choice!).
The GHD Pink Cherry Blossom Styler is a must for pink lovers.
For every of these stylers sold in the UK £10 is donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer (even better!).
The set comes with a carry/travel case and a pretty box (you get these with all GHDs but not with the design!).
I have used GHDs before (as I said one of mine started to age) so it was great to get a new pair to use. These new ones are improved – they seem to heat up even quicker and are more ‘glidey’ – a complaint i had about GHDs that they used to drag through my hair whereas these newer ones have a smoother back – so less tugging!
There’s the pretty pink shimmery plates and detailing (the lettering etc) to make them look a bit special if you are a pink fan – yet it’s not tacky at all. Black and pink could’ve been extremely tacky.
It has the usual features such as a sleep mode, round barrel, swivel cord etc.
Anyone who has ever had a GHD knows these speak for themselves; they really are very very good despite being expensive, I would say if you only ever invest in one pair of good straighteners / stylers (since so many people curl with them these days) make it GHDs or Cloud Nines which are both pricy but excellent quality (but they do come with warranty).
I swear my first pair were from babyliss and took 35 minutes to heat up. It amazes me that you wait a minute and these straighteners are ready to use.
The bag is heat resistant too so if you are in Travelodge and getting kicked out in 10 minutes but you’ve just unplugged your GHDs you can stick them in without creating a fire hazard.
With GHDs I noticed that my hair stays straighter for longer too (than with cheaper ones). I don’t know why, but it’s always been the case.
So if you are on the market for your first or new GHDs, these Cherry Blossom ones are a lovely swish addition.
