Have I ever told you about my boys’ beautiful mixed race hair? It is strong and glossy like mine, but also has the softness, the fineness and texture of my husband’s hair. They also have a LOT of hair – it’s pretty glorious.
But with great hair comes great responsibility. Their hair grows quite rapidly and is quite thick – they also hate hair cuts so I have to find ways to make them look tidy and groomed without respiting to bowl cuts or bald shaved heads. I now try to put some gel through their hair regularly to make sure they look a bit more groomed but I don’t really want to put anything heavy, scented or generally full of chemicals on their sweet heads. That is when I saw the Frezy Term styling gel which is specifically for kids.
This gel is great for young kids (it says boys but of course you can use gel if you are girl too!). It is quite a mild gel – it holds nicely but you can’t do a mohawk with it but it’s enough for adding texture or keeping hair off the face. It hydrated the hair too and is fine with sensitive scalps.
It is free of soap, alcohol, colour, SLES, silicone, parabens. It is a clear medium thick gel and what I like about it is that it doesn’t go crispy like some gel can. It also use eventually falls out nicely at th end of the day instead of feeling sticky or tacky. In other words it won’t cling on too hard and you won’t be forced to wash it out at the end of the day.
Original Sprout also do a gel like this for kids but it’s double the price of this one.
Here it is in action!
This gel is £6.50 – again if you want a super strong gel then this might not suit you but for mild hold and texture this is great. I love that there’s no nasty ingredients in there and that it cane brushed out.
