Welcome to a full week of eyeliner reviews from my latest finds from March 2011! Each review will be number 1 – 7.
I really like Laneige, a mid to high end Korean beauty brand. Their skincare is great and I’ve had mixed results from the cosmetics.
This Multi Shaping Eyeliner caught my eye because it’s a 3 in 1. This has a gel liner in the bottom and two powder liners on the top, sparkly and matte.
You also get a little brush with it which isn’t half bad. It’s a good travel sized brush anyway. I am not sure if the powder liner is supposed to be used wet or not but I noticed that it works well either way.
I have a few products from The Secret of Snow Crystal range – it feels like quite a festive line to me!
The powder liners as I said can be used wet or dry – they have that hardness that means they mix nicely with liquid without going flaky and whilst they didn’t swatch well dry, when applied around the eye area the result is nice.
Having a matte and a sparkly dark grey is a nice idea – there’s not a ton of difference once it’s on the eyes but it’s still a good idea.
The gel liner:
This is quite a soft gel liner a bit like the Bobbi Brown one. I prefer the soft gel liners to the hard textured ones however, I do like a gel liner to set quickly.
The Laneige liner sets in decent time and once it does, stays put (although it’s not waterproof) so I do think this is a great gel liner.
The gel liner is good the powder liners really don’t look great here but are great when used damp and good when applied dry to the eye area.
Verdict: I love eyeliner and if I had time I would use gel, pencil, powder and liquid liners all at once!!! This set is really handy to take away (not to carry round every day though) and for that reason I do think it’s worth investing in, especially if you don’t already have a black gel liner.
