Launching this month (February 2014) is Estee Lauder’s new Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks, in twenty shades from nudes to pinks, to corals to red, to mauves, to plums, to berries…you get the idea. There’s a big colour choice. They say:
One-of-a-kind statement shades for all skintones. Multi-faceted pigments create definition. Lips look beautifully shaped, sculpted, curvaceous. Time-released Moisture Complex helps capture and seal-in hydration.
Lips feel continuously moisturised throughout the day. Super creamy, glides on effortlessly, covers evenly. Soft, smooth, luxuriously comfortable. 6-hour wear.
You know lipstick is my favourite make up ‘thing’. There’s always time for a new lipstick, especially a luxurious one.
The new lipsticks are quite simple but elegant packaging wise; that deep royal blue and gold which is very Estee Lauder, classic enough to be timeless and not boring or old fashioned. The case is heavyweight which I like (I feel conned by expensive lipsticks if they are flimsy but look expensive!) and is magnetic, which sort of pulls the lid and body part together which a reassuring tug.
My three colours are all pinks – I love a good pink. From light to dark, Desirable, a nude pink, Powerful, a bright pink and Rebellious Rose, a brownish rose pink.
I’d describe the texture of these lipsticks as silky more than creamy – they ARE creamy, don’t get me wrong – there’s no dragging or tugging at all on the lips making is very soothing and comfortable to wear – but I’d still say they are silky rather than thick heavy creamy like textures which sometimes just sit on top of the lips and make you look like a drag queen. No…this formula is more sophisticated than just a thick creamy lipstick.
Swatches- pigmentation is excellent, as you can see from below even the pale colour has good coverage without being over the top and heavy.
I also think that these lipsticks last quite well (no staining), a few hours on me if I don’t eat or drink anything (rare to be fair).
Desirable is my perfect nude pink, it does run quite pale on me though:
Powerful looks like it could be another candy pink with no soul but it’s actually a very personable pink, not too dolly like and can be worn every day no problems:
Rebellious Rose is the most grown up shade, it looks quite dark in the tube but translate to a brownish mature reddish rose on me which I quite like:
These lipsticks are similar to balms in texture and also in how they feel on the lips, quite protective and soothing to wear even in this super dry weather.

These new lipsticks from Estee didn’t disappoint, and all the colours I tried are pretty and are shades I would wear every day.
I would definitely look out for more colours in the future because this is such a comfortable formula to wear on dry lips.
