Sigh. Estee Lauder’s new Pure Color Envy Colour Palettes are very sigh-worthy and are just what a high-end make up brand palette should be; sturdy elegant well made palette with a big mirror and selection of applicators, wearable colours and a good selection per palette. Also a pigmented, smooth texture that lasts.
I have the palette in Infamous Sky, a stormy collection of grey-cool brown-blue. There are 12 palettes to choose from online (2 are online exclusives) and they all look very wearable and elegant.
Here is the palette – there’s a matte cream for the base, a light cool peach, deeper cool coin shade, matte grey and a super deep inky navy.
Swatches – the colours are all very pigmented and not powdery at all. They are easily buildable and can be used wet and dry, although I didn’t want to risk using a wet brush on it! I hate it when powders go a bit cakey on the top! According the the EL site though, this eyeshadow will last 12 hours when used wet, and 10 hours when used dry. It does have very good longevity, but the end of the day it was still there.
I kind of just made it up when I put this on – I like that there are options with this palette, you make make the eyes really smokey with the navy or you can do something nude with the shimmers.
I am a big fan of blue eyeshadow but I do feel like sometimes it is a little too bright for me – this eyeshadow palette still looks like blue and contrasts with my eye colour BUT, it’s an elegant blue.
I like this palette very much, I definitely want a warm palette from this range for my collection now!
Other palettes on my hit list? Definitely Untamed Teal, cool taupes and a deep matte teal, Currant Desire, a mixture of plums and pinks, and Fierce Safari which is golden browns.
