The sun has got it’s hat on….kind of. This is England. it can be boiling hot one day and thunder storming the next. That’s why I always carry a cardi.
This weather makes my dry skin a bit loopy. Yes I still need tons of moisture because it tends to dry out in the sun, but it also becomes hyper sensitive and I get sweaty and a tad oily too. The sweatiness (usually because I am chasing 2 kids around) is something else, as I also get very pink…it’s attractive, I tell ya!
I decided to try this Embryolisse Hydra Mat Emulsion. It’s actually for normal to combination skin which my skin is in SOME areas, but I definitely have dry sensitive cheeks. I started to use this because I thought it would help with the er, sweaty.
This freshness care ensures optimum moisturising and a long-lasting matte effect. The skin drinks in its natural moisturising factors, and the product fixes the moisture (a sugar derivative that acts like a micro-sponge) and tones the skin with apricot oil. Embryolisse Hydra-Mat Emulsion absorbs excess sebum and reduces shininess (corn starch derivative). Its cool gelled texture really penetrates the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and matte all day long.
The cream is medium – not runny or thick, and has a cooling gel type feel. It’s lovely to rub in to my skin, it feels soothing and caused no irritation. It isn’t too thick so sunscreen on top (I am using a none chemical one which is quite thick) doesn’t feel too heavy.
I used this on the hot days and I have to say – it’s great!
I noticed a big difference in any oiliness (due to the sun) and sweatiness. Don’t get me wrong – it’s NORMAL to sweat, and sweat we should but overall, when I came back from my big walks with the kids, my skin looked surprisingly unsweaty and just a bit shiny. Even my redness was less visible than normal.
I don’t like super matte dead looking skin either, and this moisturiser doesn’t do that at all. It just sort of keeps things in check and keeps your make up lasting for longer without the need for powder.
I really like using this lotion on my skin in the hot weather – no doubt I will change to a thicker one once the weather dries up again but in the summer, this is a lovely choice even for people with drier skins like moi. Would this control oil for people with super oily skin – I don’t know to be honest as I am not in that category. If you have tried it let me know!
