I am scared of fake tan, but there are a few brands I will dabble in occasionally. At the moment I am trying to channel Gloria from Modern Family so I admit I have been dabbling with fake tan (not too often, Mr C can’t stand the smell!).
Xen Tan Ultra Dark Fake Tan Lotion is a scary prospect because it is DARK. It is not for wimps. It will take you to a dark golden brown…I admit I am already a little olive so the colour change doesn’t worry me, but the fact I am abysmal at applying the stuff (patchy patchy) does!
Enriched with Ginko Biloba, Green Tea extract, aloe and Shea butter, Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe is a real treat for skin, leaving it feeling wonderfully nourished and smooth.
To create this ultimate dark, long-lasting tan, we’ve included more DHA active tanning agent than ever before.
What do I think of this fake tan? I have used it a few times and I do like it – the result on me is good, not overly dramatic – about 3 shades darker than my NC35 skintone. I like the texture of it – Xen Tan I find easy to apply and non streaky (although I am known to have missed a huge patch of skin!). It is NOT orange.
It smells of lovely vanilly when you apply it – after that, there is definitely a fake tan smell – I can smell it from a mile off – but it’s not too unbearable considering how much DHA is in this stuff. It’s not smell free, but it’s ok.
This fake tan is long lasting – on me at least it hung around for at least 2 weeks easily. It may be different on you, depending on your skin condition though.
It’s an expensive fake tan – no mistake. I like how it looks on the skin though so would buy it in the future.
This is £34.95 and you can buy it from Xen Tan.
