I am still searching for the perfect shampoo and conditioner.
To remind you, I have a horribly flaky and sensitive scalp – most hairdyes feel like lye on my scalp and most shampoos, especially those with a lot of chemicals make my itch like mad.
Enter Daniel Galvin’s DGJ Organic Shampoo and Conditioner.
I was tempted by the name – Melon Shampoo and Conditioner!
Mmmmm smells good. I was actually tempted by that, and the fact there are no nasty SLS or Parabens in this shampoo and its only £4.05p for 250ml!!! Bargain. I had previously loved Philip Kingsley’s Scalp Care Shampoo but it costs a whopping £16 just for the shampoo. On my hair it would be gone in 2 weeks.
The DGJ Range was created by Daniel Galvin Jnr:
Daniel discovered after the birth of his first child, Rhett, that shampoos available for children contained harsh chemicals and were not organic. Some even had higher levels of surfactants than adult shampoos. Having been in a salon since the age of 16, Daniel used all his experience and know-how to develop the first range of luxury organic shampoos and conditioners in the UK with salon heritage.
Rhett? Rhett? Seriously?!
Anyway I have been using this for a little while and I really like it. The conditioner from the Philip Kingsley was orgasmic – never tried anything like it, but this Melon conditioner is not quite a perfect but still very good. The shampoo was also lovely smelling and none irritating – my hair looked glossy and shiny afterwards – no complaints at all.
They also have a tempting orangey scent!
I bought my from the Natural Beauty Shop here.
The ingredients list is rather pleasing:
Ingredients: (new formulation) Aqua, *Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Cetrimonium chloride (Vegetable derived), Cetearyl alcohol (Vegetable derived),Citric acid (Citrus fruits), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Absorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Pyridoxin (vitamin B6), Hydroxpropyitrimonium honey (honey derived), Parfum, *Cucumis Melo (organic melon extract), Phenoxyethanol/Benzyl alcohol/Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxpropyitrimonium hydrolyzed wheat protein (Wheat derived (GMO free)), Yucca vera (plant extract).
I would definately recommend for my fellow sensitive scalped ladies or for anything who wants to use organic. I will be sticking with this range for now as its also very cost effective
