I made a nice haul at MAC during a recent trip to London. Because I am on a no buy now (ahem) I thought I may as well buy some bits from the In The Groove collection and some other cosmetics I’ve been meaning to try:

I have to say, all the MAC SA’s I dealt with this time where friendly and helpful, unlike my usual experiences.

Anyway, here’s what I bought.

One of the Superglass Lip Glosses in Sweet Tart, a baby pink with gigantic chunks of glitter!

I love glitter but this is so chunky – hence I only bought one to try.

I bought a new pencil:

This is the Chromagraphic pencil which comes in a few skin tones. I got the one which was in the middle, which the SA said I could use as an eyeliner, but I figured it’s quite a nice multi use product I can use on the lips too.

I purchased 3 lipsticks – Jazzed from the In The Groove collection (a juicy sheer peach-coral), Patissere which is a sheer pink-beige nude. It barely shows up on me! And Lady Danger which is quite orange based – I like!

Of course I had to buy Stereo Rose. To be honest it’s ok – I don’t get what all the fuss is about. When I was in store there were plenty left!

I bought 2 of the mineralized eyeshadows – Togetherness which is the purple combination and Blue My Mind. I bought Togetherness – well I don’t even know why but I’m glad I did – it’s gorgeous!

Finally I bought 2 more things – a Mineralized SPF15 foundation which I do really like! This was the one a previous SA had matched me to NC40 to. This time apparently I’m NC30. So I’ve changed shades rather quickly!

I like this foundation a lot – it’s good for dry skin.

Finally I bought a Mineralized Natural Beauty Powder in Medium Plus. At the moment I really don’t want to look orange so I went for this over Medium Dark, despite the SA’s “Don’t you want to look a bit tanned?!” comments.

MAC is a weird one for me. From the start of this blog 3 years ago, I said that they don’t always light my fire, but there’s always something quite comforting about doing a MAC haul. Some of their products just work quite well.

Have you hauled anything from MAC recently?

When will they realise that “orange” is not the same as “tanned”?!

Good choice on ‘Patisserie’ lippie, I’ve had it for ages and it’s my absolute favourite. It’s really soft and just a little bit glossy.

Orange and tanned are two entirely different things! People don’t know the difference

I’m usually matched NC40 and got that foundation in NC30. The shades actually run quite dark so that’s why they matched you to a lighter number – don’t worry, you didn’t suddenly molt your tan! It’s pretty much the same colour as studio fix NC40

Hi Ja

Ah good! I did think the NC40 was a bit orange on me! eek! But nevermind NC30 seems to match me quite well now!

Ahh I’m so envious! My counter ran out of Patisserie when I went to get one. =( I really wanted it, too…

The eyeshadows look nice–I’m getting tempted by Blue My Mind already.

Patisserie looks really pretty, and Jazzed does too.

I guess I’m out of the loop because I have no idea what all the fuss over Stereo Rose is either.
