Accessorize Baked Eyeshadow Duo Swatches & Review

I have heard other whispers about Accessorize launching a cosmetics range but wasn’t sure what to make of it – ANOTHER clothing store trying it’s hand out at make up!?

Still I am open minded. The Accessorize range is sold online, in store and I believe in selected Superdrug stores. I have two of the baked duos here to try.

My friend who loves butterflies would go ape over this packaging. I think its’ decent enough:

I am over this whole baked eyeshadow thing though. Everyone does baked eyeshadow and the ones who do it badly make a really hard crumbly shadow and go ‘that’s cos it’s baked’ when the point of baking should be to make it extra creamy and pigmented (like old school Shu Uemura eyeshadows!).

So onwards we swatch:#alttext#

Huh pretty good!

Now make no mistake, these shades are all about the shimmer, something I apply in controlled doses these days, but at the same time they are pretty, pastel shades which think are wearable and great for spring. The duos compliment quite nicely too although I haven’t seen what the other duos have to offer.

I have some other bits by Accessorize beauty so will review soon, but I have to say the Baked Duos are nicer than I expected. Their ‘merged’ shadows look interesting too. But if you want to browse their large range, see here.

I’ve got the ‘merged’ shadow in Cocoa and it is just gorgeous. Creamy, pigmented and really easy to work with. The first time I wore it, my friend said it looked really nice and couldn’t believe it was all one shadow. Apparently, when I’d blended it out, it looked like 2 or maybe 3 different shades. Bonus! Lazy girl eye makeup. ;o) I’ve been quite impressed with Accessorize range. The range is on 3 for 2 on in Superdrug at the mo.

Love the Accessorize range! Initially just because the packaging was so damn cute and girly, but the products are actually quite good for the price :) I’ve tried the mineralised baked blusher//bronzer which is lovely and glowly, and the nail polishes are pretty interesting, they have duochrome shades (not sure if that’s quite the correct term!). I’m sure I’ve seen something that looks like the P & J Clair de lune collection eyeshadow/face powder as well!
