A Random Christmas Wish List 2012!

It’s 7am and I have a spare moment ladies, so is it too soon to talk about Christmas?! Nah!

I don’t know about everyone else but there isn’t anything overwhelming I want…there never really is, so it’s hard thinking of bits and pieces sometimes for people (apparently I am ‘impossible’ to buy for as I tend to just get what I want!).  Having said that I have been perusing the net and come up with some random things that I wouldn’t say no to (or rewrap and give away…not that I do that…honest):

1. A ceramic knife

My collection of knives suck, you know when you squish a tomato down instead of cutting it? I’ve wanted to try a ceramic knife forever – Lakeland have an affordable collection (they’re shop is a killer at Christmas, so many nice things). This Chef’s knife (£27.99) fits the bill although it doesn’t look very – er – ceramic:

2. A Kindle

As if I don’t have enough gadgets and devices – I’ve never seen the appeal of a Kindle as I like the feel of paper but the book collection is getting ridiculous and I don’t have the room!  A Paperwhite 3G looks good and perhaps I can get in more reading whilst Baby H is napping this way. I considered a Kindle Fire but let’s face it – that ain’t made for reading:

3. Alex Monroe Necklace

I still don’t own any Alex Monroe although I think the designs are really cute – I don’t like OTT jewellery for day to day but I do like quirky. I love the baby bumblebee and mini rose gold shrimp in particular. Price at The Pod seem reasonable for Alex Monroe.

4. Jo Malone – Roasted Chestnut Candle

This is such an amazing candle – it smells like roasting chestnuts, you can almost see the fire. It’s also £80 – gulp.

I wonder if Yankee candles do a Chestnut scent because £80 for a candle makes me want to cry a little.  Or I could just burn some chestnuts in the kitchen I guess. Still – this candle really is amazing – if you’re feeling more saucy than me, you can get it from the Jo Malone site.

5. Marks & Spencers Broken Butter Toffee…

Is the most amazing thing ever – i can just eat bags and bags of it and that is what I intend to do over Christmas!

I protested against the whole Kindle thing, whilst secretly coveting. Fortunately my OH knows me too well and found a returned one in JL for £67 with a year’s guarantee…it is “hidden” in his wardrobe until Christmas Day but every now and again I get it out and stroke it a bit. I now have to decide on a cover…And Alex Munroe, he was on QVC years ago. Great list.

I have had years 1 ceramic knife, it’s so sharp that I have to hide from my family 😉 It cuts fast and deep in skin too, so I use it random and only if I need very sharp blade. For tomatoes get those sawtooth bladed knifes and cut like sawing motion it works well and those wont get blunt to fast :) For good working knifes get Victorinox knifes (yes that company makes swissarmy knife too) they are not that expensives and last forever! I like too that necklace too! and toffee is always good 😀 But for Christmas… I hate it, maybe it has something to do with family of my own, I liked when I was kid 😀

I LOVE my cheapo ceramic knife that I stumbled across in some random shop in Paris, was about 6euros but it’s super sharp and slices through tommies no problems! It’s so sharp it comes with it’s own little knife guard, and so sharp I’m a little scared of it lol >.<
I love your wishlist…it's so random! If I were looking for a gift for you, it would have to be something super random!

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The style and design look great though! Hope you get the issue fixed soon. Many thanks
