some of the old carols are soo majestic so i quite like them, they make me all festive if helped along by a nice mulled wine. Happy Christmas xxxx

  2. liloo says

without a doubt, my favourite christmas song is ‘all i want for christmas is you’ from mariah carey xx

  3. Georgina Ball says

It would have to be that song which sounds like a fat, jolly man is singing it – something to do with cavalry (not sure if I spelt that right, I mean ‘army horses’)

Bada, bada, bom bom, bada, bada bom…

Twelve Days of Christmas by Frank Kelly
I love this- expecting to hear the traditional version of the 12 days of christmas- but oh do funny I heard it on the radio yesterday morning.. so I set about finding out exactly what the lyrics were. So here is the first verse

    Day One

    Dear Nuala,
Thank you very much for your lovely present of a partridge in a pear-tree. We’re getting the hang of feeding the partridge now, although it was difficult at first to win its confidence. It bit the mother rather badly on the hand but they’re good friends now and we’re keeping the pear-tree indoors in a bucket. Thank you again.
    Yours affectionately,
    Gobnait O’L£nasa

  5. Julie Andrews says

The one that always makes smile and want to sing along is Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens

  6. Kat says

Definitely Kylie Minogue’s version of Santa Baby. A lot of singers have done their own version but Kylie’s is far superior – she knows exactly how to deliver the cheekiness (and sexiness, haha) of the song. :D

  7. Jules says

All together now – “Rockin around the christmas tree have a happy holiday, everyone’s dancing merrily in the new old fashioned way”

Great for a boogie too :)

  8. JAN says

WELL I WISH IT COULD BE CHRISTMAS EVERY DAY – let the bells ring out for christmas! – My Favourite, always makes me smile (even though we all know none of us would survive if it was Christmas every day as we got older!!)

  9. JoC says

My favourite is ‘I believe in Father Christmas’ by Greg Lake.. perhaps the ‘alternative xmas’ song; but warm, cosy, xmas jingle with a soul and true meaning.

  10. says

I generally hate Christmas songs, and Mariah Carey songs, but I do like the Mariah Carey version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You!”

  11. Sarah Laycock says

Really love Jingle Bell Rock – Santa gets his feet a tapping – great catchy, Christmassy tune! x

  12. Jo Hunt says

‘Do they know it’s Christmas’ is my favourite, followed closely by Fairy Tale of New York.

    • Ali Johnson says

Doh I meant Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade. I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday was playing in the background as I typed and I subliminally typed it.

  13. Cher Waite says

Well really its just ‘little donkey’ but to sound cool I shall say Fairytale of New York!
