What will be on your plate on Christmas Day?

Me: It will be Turkey, Red Cabbage, Sausage, Sprouts, Potato, Parsnips, Gravy, Stuffing, Bacon, Carrots, Cranberry Sauce, Yorkshire Pudding (this is a Chinese thing).

Winners will be chosen in the New Year. The competition is open internationally. No cash alternative will be offered and prizes will not be ‘resent’ in they are ‘lost’.  Proof of postage is always retained. If you do not respond with your address in 2 days another winner will be chosen.

  2. ahh we have yorkshire puddings too, glad you pointed out it is a chinese thing! we have a small banquet at christmas! this year there will be:

    turkey, goose, pigs in blanket, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, honey mustard carrots, cinnamon carrots, roast parsnips, brussel sprouts, parsnip gratin, 4 types of different stuffing, gravy (this obviously cannot fit on just one plate, extra plates will be needed)

Here in sweden we have something called christmas smorgardsbord so my plate will be filled by everything i really love to eat 😀 meatballs, small sausages (prinskorv), potatoes, christmas ham, ribs, baked brown beans, harring, eggs and my favourite rödbetssallad (like coleslaw but without cabbage and with beetroots instead ;D)

    Turkey,brussel spouts,bread sauce,cranberry sauce,all the stuffing,mashed pattoes and all of this will be swimming in gravy!yum!

    Alongside the usual.. turkey, sprouts(lemon and pine nuts), cauliflower cheese, apple and chestnut stuffing… I have found the most amazing recipe for Braised red cabbage with cranberries. Topped with mum’s creamy gravy! Yum! I’m full just thinking about it.. I shal be in the gym most of January!!!

I will most likely be celebrating Christmas alone this year- my brother is on a holiday in Shanghai, my parents are in East Malaysia and my boyfriend will be working :) But then again, my family doesn’t really celebrate Christmas (Here in Malaysia), and if we do get together for dinner it’s usually Chinese food 😛 Most Christmas parties I went to don’t also feature most of the foods listed by you or the other commentors, perhaps except turkey, cranberry sauce and mince pies.

  11. Oooh can’t wait for Christmas – we too have a mini banquet, but as there are also veggys in the house we have:

    Home made nut roast (yum), Turkey, carrots, parsnips, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, stuffing balls, gravy, onion gravy, yorkshire puddings (what is a roast without them??) cabbage, pickled onions, red cabbage, pigs in blankets… ooh im drooling now….

  13. We’re going to be celebrating Christmas dinner at the Waldorf Astoria on Maui, Hawaii. Don’t know what the menu will be yet!

  15. For me it’ll be roast duck, gluten free sausage meat stuffing, ham, cabbage (cooked in the ham water), honey roasted carrots & parsnips, peas, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and gravy made with the same water that the ham and cabbage was cooked in.

  24. Turkey, a bit of lamb or glazed ham (we usually get a smaller joint as well as the Turkey), roast potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, sprouts, carrots, honey glazed parsnips… can’t wait!

I’ll be having 4 meat roast chicken, turkey, pork and beef with brussels (just a few because of the farts), parsnips, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato (I need sweet potato rehab!) pigs in blankets, Yorkshires, sage and onion stuffing, gravy, mint sauce and cranberry sauce (on different meat – yes, I’m a weirdo!)

    Mmmmmm, yummy! And best of all, I won’t be cooking it…..but I will be washing up! Merry Christmas x

    Turkey, sprouts – lots of them for a suitably windy afternoon, sweet potato mash, roast parsnips, carrots, brocolli, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and pork & sage stuffing next to a HUGE SOGGY Yorkshire pudding.

  39. This year i will have to cook for myself and my son.As my mum and dad are going up to newcastle to spend it with my sister. We are on cat sitting duty lol.
    We will be having roast turkey,roast potatoes,red cabbage,mini sausauges and not sure what other veg yet.

Christmas lunch will be the same as every year – lots of turkey (Nigella recipe this year!), ham, roasties cooked in goosefat (thank you Delia), sausagemeat, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, lots of veg including brussel sprouts making their one appearance of the year – then Christmas pudding with cream and icecream, followed by trifle, followed by snacking on Quality Street chocs just because they’re there. A lot of food!

  41. We will be straight in to the cold meats on Christmas Day as Dad has to work :( He hates getting up and going to work after a heavy meal, so we will have a big roast at New Year. I will be having, cold Turkey and Beef with salad and all of the extras, pickled eggs, silverskin onions, can’t wait.
