Months ago, a lovely reader helped me purchase this chocolate eyeshadow palette from Kiss (a Japanese brand) called the Glamourize Shadow. There are 4 shades in the compact and they colours are very natural. I’ve been totally into nude eyeshadow palettes lately, I just like the natural glow at the moment.

I’ve been looking for a gentle way to colour my hair lately and add some depth without reaching for permanent or semi-permanent dyes. My hair was starting to look super brassy and purple shampoos weren’t enough to keep everything in control. Then the magic of Twitter recommended the Aveda colour conditioners to me; Clove and/or Black Malva. I chose Clove: According the the Aveda website, Black Malva is for diminishing red tones and Clove […]
Doing a skincare clean up recently made me realise just how much half used skincare I have. The thing is, if something doesn’t suit, I don’t carry on using it. If something doesn’t offend my skin but doesn’t offer much either, I don’t tend to keep using it either. Hence, I do have skincare guilt every time I crack open something new. However – this didn’t stop me from cracking open this Jo Malone Vitamin […]
So quite a while ago I went and bought all the shades from the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream range because it was a good deal for all the shades (about £4 each). Here is what NYX say: Neither lipstick nor lip gloss—this is matte lip cream. A new kind of pout paint that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte […]
Today’s polish is blue. When the sun comes out I feel like these kinds of bright shades are more acceptable! Avon’s Cosmic Blue has some pearl shot through it. I quite like it, even if there aren’t lots of different tones going on.
Hi Ladies! You may have noticed a lack of posts this week – I have just been so tired, too tired to post, reply to emails or do very much other than eat cereal and oranges! I hope to feel more energetic soon and can work on this blog and the others I have been neglecting, plus some videos! I thought I’d leave you with a video I saw yesterday which features a moving message […]
Carrying on from the last nail polish post, I have another one of the new Avon Nail Polish colours! This one is called Starry Sky – a metallic pure clean silver! Something about silver polish just reminds me of Christmas!
It was Marina from Makeupforall who I first saw mention that Revlon Moon Drops lipstick (not out in the UK) in Persian Melon 585 was used in the American TV series, Pan Am. Marina’s post about beauty inspired by the series is here. Pan Am is a series about the Air Hostesses who work for the once illustrious airline…I admit I saw 3 shows and it wasn’t for me – beautiful to look at but […]
Avon recently released 12 new shades of their Pro+ nail polish – because there are so many I am swatching them over the next few days! They say: Gives you the look of a professional manicure. Shine lasts up to 10 days* The advanced formula contains diamond dust and acrylic known for its strengthening, and protection properties giving your nails a high-gloss finish. This is REAL RED: Avon Nailwear packaging is quite simple and you […]
Four Reasons haircare originated from Finland and is one of the fastest growing ranges in Scandinavia and now, you can buy it in the UK. When I first saw this hair care range I was in love with the cuteness – the packaging is fabulous. Fun but sleek too – I like! Do you like? Four Reasons splits it’s vast range up quite clearly so you can pick what is suitable for your hair (Volume, […]
I do love looking in £1 stores or discount stores for little bargains. Home Bargains is a discount retailer in the UK – they have completely random stuff like homeware, food, cosmetics etc. I spotted a big basket of hair accessories from Babyliss whilst I was there. Price? 39p per item! There was a real mixture of items, hairbands, clips, elastic etc. but I decided not to buy too may things! They usually sell this […]
I’ve recently really got into neutral eye looks; maybe because it’s just easier to apply and is great for work. Thus I have acquired (as you will see) a number of neutral eyeshadow palettes! The thing about Japanese palettes is that they are always shimmery and slightly sheer. It’s nice to have some mattes and some bolds in a palette especially when you have a whopping 5 colours to choose from. I purchased Visee’s newest […]
My lip balm obsession is never ending; I am forever buying and losing them! OMI Menturm is a Japanese brand that make an array of products, and they have some pretty well known lip balms that usually have a strong menthol scent and tingle. Being up for a gimmick I couldn’t resist these Moist Cube or rather, Moiscube lip balms… Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE CUBE SHAPED! Makes all the difference don’t ya know!
Regular readers will know I love making my own palettes so I asked for this Vidi Vici Lunch Box Quad palette (empty) and 4 refills. You can actually refill this with eyeshadows, blush, eyebrow colour, shader, lip colours – it’s very flexible. I was boring and went for 4 eyeshadows as I knew I wouldn’t bother using a brow powder, lip colours etc. Now, this Lunch Box palette also comes in a 2 pan (soon […]
A brand I have been dying to try for a while (but is very hard to get hold of in the UK) is Vidi Vici. Vidi Vici is a high end Korean brand by make up artist Lee Kyung Min. It’s pretty expensive, up there with premium brands and has a grown up chic style it which is quite different from the cutesy Etude House, Skinfood etc. Here is what I hauled (from my aunts […]
I’ve never really been too interested in body wash or body moisturisers until recently; now I appreciate a really nice smelling, hydrating wash and some lovely body moisturiser too. I like body oils because they appeal to how lazy I am – anything that takes ages to rub and sink in annoys me! Etude House Any Oil 21is called this because has ’21 recommended uses’. I am sure at a stretch you can think of […]
I bought a MAC lipstick from eBay recently…not the cleverest thing because eBay is littered with fakes of the most popular brands (such as MAC, Nars and Benefit) but the seller had good feedback and I presumed it would be ok. But now I am seeing little things that makes me wonder if it is a fake. Readers, what do you think?I am no MAC expert but perhaps some of you are…. I pulled out […]
Now, I have a really bad habit of buying full size skincare products on the whim…very bad habit because inevitably it doesn’t quite suit me and it ends up in a drawer somewhere. So I decided recently that I needed some new skincare for my super sensitive skin and I ended up on a Kiehl’s counter where a super lovely SA recommended some products. I decided to be SENSIBLE and ask for samples, luckily the […]
OPI have created a charity shade to support Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (March) and with every purchase made in this month, Lena White will donate £1 to Ovacome. The shade is ‘Teal The Cows Come Home’: Ovarian cancer is very heard to spot because the symptoms can be so easily confused for something else. Remember the acronym BEAT: Bloating that does not come and go Eating less and feeling fuller quickly Abdominal Pain Tell your […]
Since I swatched all of the previous Beetlejuice nail polishes from Models Own, I thought you might like to see three new polishes launching on the 19th March! Copper Pot, Tropical Sun and Indian Ocean (£5 each). Of all three I likeIndian Ocean the most! What do you think of these?
