Today I am bringing you various reviews and swatches from the YSL Spring 2011 collection, Bohemian Chic:
“After a rock and baroque themed winter, spring is back with a burst of fresh roses to flush the cheeks while enhancing the complexion with a seemingly innocent purity. Sensual full lips in bright pink or coral light up the face. A bold touch of eyeliner completes the look.”
- YSL Artist, Lloyd Simmonds
I absolutely look the look from this visual -I LOVE hot pink on the eyes with lashings of black liner. *sigh*.
The model is a lot paler than me so how it translates on to tan skin, I don’t know.
One of the main products from this collection is the Ombres 5 Lumières N° 10 in Bohemian Chic:
This palette is certainly bohemian! The texture is interesting too because yes it’s soft, but there’s a mixture of pigmented (the darker shades) and deliberately sheer (such as the green and white). Also they are infused with a light glitter.
White, light green (for of a glittery top coat), hot pink with glitter, dark blue and chocolate brown – that’s weird right? It’s a strange one!
Even though it’s strange I can see that a few looks can be achieved, ie. focusing on the pink, focusing on the blue, focusing on the brown or being a bit wacky and mixing the pink with blue or pink with brown. I’ll have to see as I play with the palette what I can do. I’d love to be able to recreate the hot pink.
Swatches for now:
I’m all for different, unusual palettes so, I like this palette, I think it’s interesting but will reserve complete judgement until I have tried to do some looks with it!
Would you go for Boho Chic?

That’s an interesting and unusual color combination. The shades look pretty.
