I totally get that Make Up For Ever is an amazing brand although I wouldn’t say that the range is without its disappointments – for me anyway.
I purchased the Face and Body Foundation because I had this weird idea that I’d get a beach holiday this year. I can keep wishing. So I just had to have a waterproof foundation, which is what MUFE’s base is.
This was the haul I made in its entirety by the way – everything here is waterproof (I will review the concealer and aqua creams later):

They say:
This waterproof, ultra-light, water-based gel contains no emulsifiers and provides a totally natural, satin finish. Ideal for normal skin-types as well as for fine lines and large pores. Gives skin a uniform tone without accentuating imperfections
Coming in a glass jar, Make Up For Ever’s Face and Body Liquid Make Up gives you 50ml for £27. Its a light texture – its almost a bit jelly like, gives a sheer but buildable coverage and is….waterproof!
I know, I keep going on about it….

I was particularly interested in this because I have MAC’s Face and Body Foundation which is also very sheer. I like MAC’s offering but its no where near enough coverage for my face – works nicely for other parts of the body though, say if you are having photos taken and want completely even skin.
Here is the texture of the foundation – its like jelly:

I got Honey Beige – no 34. I guessed my shade and I got lucky! This is great for my NC35-40 skintone and its got a yellow base to it. Its so sheer anyway, that you can work with it.
Here it is on my skin – I though I’d used too much because a big lump of jelly foundation fell out bit it was fine – it sinks in super quickly and dries on the skin leaving a soft, semi matte finish on me.

It was sheer. I dabbed on a second light layer and voila – my skin looked great. Natural and quite real – not flawless, but real. A great every day and summer foundation, no doubt.

On my face – you can see there is redness and I am guessing some concealer would sort out out properly but we are talking about something that is very quick to use and fresh.

Verdict:
I like it a lot! I am drowning under foundations here, but this one is quite special – a unique texture, light, feels kind on the skin and will last all day. Will be my summer foundation for surez.

Phew, I’m relieved you like it as much as me. You’re a tough broad to recommend stuff for!
I use this like a concealer too… not on blemishes obviously, it’s too sheer for that… but over redness I just go back to those areas with a couple more layers and keep building. I think that’s what I love most about it.
Plus… the jelly formula is pretty cool!
